It was a muddy cloudy day my mood was down too; mum is at work but I'm not alone. My pink coat zipped up to the top with my long blonde wavy thick hair caught in zip. I'm only a little so I just pulled it out. My skin so pale with a hint of red on my cheeks where the cold had hit me earlier, gloves on my hands and a scarf round my neck. The top of my head covered in a little purple woolly hat with three tiny flowers on it one pink, one blue and one green. My blue velvet trousers scrunched up in my pink poker dot wellies.
I was ready to face the evil power of the weather, there's two types the good weather the sun, calm winds and the light rain that helps the plants. Then there are the evil weather windstorms and the rain I don't mean the light rain I mean the rain that causes floods. See when I was 7 I wasn't an ordinary little girl one with dolls and toys. I was creative in a way it was like magic. Well I mean it was magic. I was one of them. They live in the garden are the most beautiful creatures in the world. So I opened the door.
The cold breeze hit my face as I opened the back door it hit me like a dog catching a ball. My cold tiny fingers and feet tingled as the cold hit me. As I walked to the stairs I stumbled and caught my self so I didn't fall I looked up and smiled as if someone was watching me .The view was as always just the same but no one can see what I see. I had climbed all twenty-five steps I always counted them to check that they were all there. The red roses lit up the winter garden it was dull with out them they made me feel at home, as I walked over the stepping stones to see my favourite thing in the world, in front of me it stood. The best thing off all time the old ancient tree swing, yes it squeaked and yes it moaned like a old man when u sat on it. It was where I did all my thinking; all my day dreaming and when I was me I sat on my bench well my nannies' bench squeaking away but it helped me relax as a stared at the garden.
All the water features were frozen but you could still see the fish happily swimming in the cold. The grass full of frost like Jack Frost had come and sprinkled his sparkly frosty dust all over nannies' garden. Tweet the birds went as they where ice skating over the frozen bird bath they looked like they where having a great time dancing and diving about like goofy who is Mickey mouse's friend they made me laugh as I pushed the swing some more. The remains of the snow from last night were scatted around the magical garden in big piles where my granddad had scraped it off the garden this morning. They looked like old snowmen that were melting away in the hot looking sun it weren't hot in the air though but the sun was shining. The trees were all bare no leaves I laugh as I thought they looked like they weren't wearing clothes all cold and lonely like they had no friends. Then I heard a noise. It was a strange noise like a flapping, I first thought of wings of a bird. Then all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I saw a butterfly. It was delicate and beautiful, just a tiny mythical creature. It was amazing just minding its own business, darting and flying as if I wasn't there. She wasn't very colourful, only different shade of brown. The colour glisten over her wings hazel and an army green, she stood out unlike the red roses. The ice blue frozen water, she was there just amazing. She didn't even notice me.
I stopped thinking and just stared my mind went blank like I was lost in a world of nothing. A black open space with a butterfly in just flying around. Magic! She was magic I don't know how or why but she is, just drifting threw the air so elegantly and happily. Shivers ran down my spine, the cold it just came back it was like it wasn't there until that moment strange it was. As I open my eyes the image was blurry but I think she was on the floor, the imaged appeared like a bright light her wing had broke.
What to do. I scooped her up after ripping my gloves off, my hands warm comforting her. Jumped off the bench and left it swinging and squeaking. I ran down the stairs not tripping and pushed the door open, kicked my wellies off and carefully lay down on the floor next to the fire. It was warm and the sound of the wood fire crackling made me feel at home. I slid her off my hand and she just lay there. I was scared had I killed her?
My first tear rolled down my face, my eyes filled up just about to explode when she came round. She struggled and fluted a bit but she needed time 2 recover. After ten minutes or so she flew around the room. Darting past me and flying so gracefully around the large area of the warm. The smile on my face couldn't get bigger but I knew she had to go back outside. I thought to my self "she might come back". So I took her back threw the back door.
The cold breeze hit my face as I opened the back door it hit me like a dog catching a ball. My cold tiny fingers and feet tingled as the cold hit me. As I walked to the stairs I stumbled and caught my self so I didn't fall I looked up and smiled as if someone was watching me. She came towards me and touched my cheek so softly and gently then looked at me and flew away. The tear ran down my face and I sniffled a bit but I knew she was happy because she was flying. I watched her fly off into the distance until she got so small she had gone, I ran inside to warm up. "Chelsie what have you been doing".
"Oh nothing really Nan just been playing outside"
