The Beginning

North West of the Ellamor peninsula a barren maintly uninhabited wilderness called Windland was the place where our bloody history started.

It was stretched until the rocky coast's of Greysea in the West and the impressive Sabertooth Mountains in the North as natural boundaries.

This place was always a no man land ,a wilderness with hot steps and thick dark forests in the highlands of the mountain ranges.

There forgotten beasts, giants and even dragons found refuge from the rich and prosperous human realms in the southeast of the peninsula.

And this was the birthplace were the first the original ''Warband''was created.

The Sea People Settlements

At first refugees arrived with ships in the coasts of Windland.

They were dark haired tall humans whose islands and lives destroyed after the Great Flood that swallowed their small islands far away in the Western Ocean.

They were known as People's of the Sea to the rest of the world and not without a reason.

They was a strong naval force and not few of them was also notorious pirates.

They tried to settle in the costlines building temporary settlements in every shore where they could find refuge from the cold winds of the sea.
Soon other came and joined them there through the centuries, fugitives, exiles, refugees or mercenaries from all over the world of men.

Very few native people existed there then wandering in the dry hills near the cost.

They were small in high and extremely hostile.

They were cold ''The Wildings'' from most of the other men but nobody knew from where they came from.

The were riding huge grey wolves that used for hunting or raiding one onother especially in the hardest winter seasons.

And soon the use of this wolves as a war steeds soon became common among many humanoid races of this wild land.

The Orkish Horde Warriors

Few years after their arrival the warlike Orks and some berserkers Ogres that lived in the tundras in the north of the continent engaged in a ruthless war with the humans and dwarves of the realms of Azhara.

The dwarf's lords wanted to conquer the rich in minerals mountains of the north and with the aid of human king's, establish new trading routes in the area.

The fierce but primitive orks tribes eventually lost the war and the survivors moved south and arrived in the vast but arid plains of Windland.

The tough creatures renamed the place the Burning Planes and followed a nomadic way of life in order to survive from the limited resources of the area.

The Dark Elves Civilization

The last race that immigrated in the Windland was the Dark Elves of Nightlands.

They were great warriors and alchemists which dwelled their mysterious matriarchical cities not far from the notorious Drows of the Underdark.

When the Drows armies attacked the Surface Elves and eventually their humans allies some of the Dark Elves sided with the Drows and others with the Surface Elves.

But when the war ended with the retreat of the Drow Armies back in the Underdark ,all the Dark Elves believed to be treacherous and dishonest from the First Alliance of Men and High Elves.

The Dark Elves along side with their other similar races that lived with them ,were slaughtered or exiled in the Windlands and their cuties and culture destroyed completely from the human armies.

Even the Surface Elves such as the Woodelfs didn't support them after the War , because they always discriminated them as very alike in appearance with the Drows which was their ancient enemies.

The surving Dark Elves settled in the windy mountain ranges and dense forests of the highlands where they tried to preserve their banned language, culture and traditions.

This elves was the only ones that accomplished to breed mountain lions as steeds during their night attacks.

The Formation of the First Warband

The first years of their settlement was difficult for all the three main races that lived in Windland and the resources limited and scarce.

Conflicts between them started soon but finished even quicker because all the sides had already lost so much and a war between them would lead to their complete obliteration.

The everyday fight for survivor and the dangers in their hard environment had already claimed many deads among them.

In the end they found a collaboration and even an alliance more profitable and safe for their uncertain future.

Their future wars with the rest of the world and race's, which they wanted to see them destroyed , eventually created strong bonds between them.

They realise that they needed more lands and resources ,outside of their world in order to survive in the future and only a united effort could achieve that.

The Dark Elves scholars was the creators of this force supporting the idea of an union that would turn them in a considerable power.

Soon they found their first supporters amongst the ambitious ork chieftains of the Burning Plains like the Black Skulls and One Eyes.

After two centuries they had become the main rival political fraction ,a terrible force that opposed the White Sword Brotherhood an ancient alliance.

This alliance was created to defend the realms of the surface races from an attack from the Windlands.

From the other hand the Orks, the People of the Sea the Dark Elves and latter the Jungle Trolls of Sunset Islands created ''The Warband'' as they cold themselves.

Their values, societies, culture and ideology was completely different from the rest of the living species'.

The people of the Warband disliked the idea of any athority and didn't recognise any titles, agreements or laws that were used in the rest of the civilized world.

They only valued the strength from the individuals which prooved the strongest and managed to survive with the strength of their sword rather than political intrigues and diplomacy.

The realms of humans, dwarves and Surface Elves learned quickly that the outcast races of the Windland was a considerable force and their era of their dominion in the continent was under question for the first time in their very long history.

They started to built a hundred feet in high stone wall that blocked the main passage from the lands of the Warband to their realms but the huge defensive construction never completed or manned with soldiers because of the arguments between the humans.
