The most life changing moment was when you stood on the X Factor stage and performed your most important performance in your entire life, you felt exhilerated. And when you got four yes's from the judges, you couldn't hold it back anymore. This was the happiest moment of your life. You started crying and all of your family came rushing onto the stage. You said your thank you's and you were guided off the stage. You stood there and hugged your father tightly. Looking up in the sky and thinking to yourself, You're proud of me mum, I know you are.
You had lost your mum at the early age of 7 in a drunk driving car accident. To this day you still swore that not an ounce of alcohol would ever enter your body. You drove home and you had a welcome home party awaiting you with all of your family and closest friends. You all sat down and watched your replay of your audition. You sang the fray's "Look after you". You were so proud of yourself for once in your life.
After everybody left, you closed the door and turned. Watching your Dad clean up the mess.
"Dad?" You called out.
"Yes pumpkin?" He turned and smiled. You ran and hugged him and he hugged you back.
"Thank you for everything you've ever done for me, I love you." You whispered.
"I love you too (Y/N) Now get some rest, big day ahead of you tomorrow." Your father kissed you on top of the head and you headed off to bed. You sat yourself upright and looked down at your wrist. You looked at the scars. You had a self harm problem since you were 11 years old, growing up without a mother was always hard. You were constantly bullied at school and you felt alone in this world. You hadn't cut in 7 months but for some reason you had a strong urge and sensation in your stomach, like you needed to do it. You broke a mug that was sitting on your nightstand, picked up the sharpest piece you could find, and just started cutting.

You woke up the next morning and got ready. You were driven to Simon's house where he would determine if you were good enough to go to boot camp. Although something didn't seem right, you sang but your voice rocky and shaky.
"I'm so sorry. I can do this." You pleaded.
"One more try" Simon glared at you. You gathered up every breath you had, you knew you had this in you. You started thinking of your mum, you had to do this. You had to make her proud. You sang, and you let out the most beautiful noise you had ever made. Simons glare quickly turned into a grin, and then a smile. You finished singing and were escorted to a waiting area while Simon would decide the outcome. When you were escorted back Simon smiled at you.
"I don't even think I have to say it, I think you know." Simon said happily.
You looked down. "Um.." you really weren't sure.
"It's a yes, you're going to bootcamp (Y/N). See you then."
You jumped up and down with joy and ran over, planted a big kiss on Simons cheek and hugged him.
"Thank you so so much you won't regret this I promise!'

"It's step two, three, two, one, back, kick and turn." The dance instructor repeated over and over again at boot camp but the steps seemed almost impossible. You had mad a friend, her name was Lilie. She taught you the steps and you understood it a lot more. When you had your first break the two of you sat down at the table.
"I'm excited to move into the contestants house! Are you (Y/N)?" She asked with a huge smile on her face.
"I for SURE am!" Your replied also smiling. You looked over and saw a boy with blonde hair, sort of short, gorgeous blue eyes and an amazing smile.
"Who is that?" You asked your friend.
"That's Niall Horan, he's irish." She replied in pure lust. "Go on, go talk to him!" She nudged your shoulder. You grinned and decided that you would go talk to him.
You made your way towards Niall and he welcomed you with a warm smile.
"Hi, I'm (Y/N)" You said putting a hand in front of you. He grabbed it and shook, "I know. I saw your audition, you're absolutely amazing." He paused, "And I'm Niall, Niall Horan." You blushed, "Thank you, yours was pretty outstanding yourself." You smiled awkwardly not even seeing his audition tape. You realized that the two of you were still holding hands and you pulled away. "Do you think you're gonna make it through boot camp?" Niall asked breaking the silence.
"Well I really hope so, aha. How about you?" You asked him.
"I'm not so sure. I mean, my voice is strong and all I guess, I just don't know if I'm artist material." His smile turning into a frown, " You'll do great." You smiled placing a hand on his shoulder. "Thank you!" His smile quickly returning. You gave each other a friendly hug and returned to the dance floor when break was over. The two of you constantly gave each other little looks here and there, and when Niall would mess up you would mock him. He responded by laughing.

5 days later:
You thought being in the contestants house was going to be a lot of fun, and it was, but it had it's moments. The curly haired boy named Harry would always sleep naked and you would accidentally walk in on him in the bathroom, the shy boy named Zayn was so noisy with his hair dryer. The loud boy named Louis was, well, loud. The cute boy named Liam was really charming, and the funny boy named Niall, became your best friend. You two had formed a special bond and it was really amazing, you barely knew him yet it felt like you had known him for 10 years and more. Niall had become a part of a group with the other four boys, and they were all really nice. They called themself "One Direction" which you thought was a really catchy name. You were friends with all of them, but you had more of a bond with Niall.
Tonight was the contestants christmas dinner and you were all lounging and talking when the camera's came in. They were filming for the xfactor youtube channel. No big deal You thought. Niall sat beside you at the dinner table and you and all of the contestants shared good laughs they filmed, and it was just a great time. Niall nudged your hand and then held it while he had the chance, and just in that moment you grew butterflies. You knew you had been getting feelings for Niall, and it was just a crush. But it was a deep crush. You got nervous and pulled away and Niall gave you a confused look. You just smiled and looked away. Tomorrow you would all have a 2 week break for christmas.

The next morning you all said your good-byes to each other and waited for your rides. You and Niall were the only ones left and just as you saw your Dad pull in the drive way Niall grabbed your arm. "Wait, I have something for you." he said with a smile. He turned you around and placed on your neck a beautiful gold necklace with a diamond butterfly pendant on the end of it. You felt yourself smile. "I'll miss you best friend." Niall said and gave you a hug. "Text me whenever you get lonely Niall." You assured him. "Bye (Y/N), see you soon!" He shouted as you headed out the door.
You entered the car and gave your dad a hug. "Missed you kiddo!" He said as he started to drive away. He noticed you playing with your necklace. "Who gave you that?" he asked you with a grin. "Niall." you replied and paused. "Niall gave it to me."
