In case you didn't read the description before looking at this, this is a Genshin Impact Zhongchi Oneshot. I might update this again if I feel like continuing this. It's pretty bad, I can't write a fight scene to save my life.

Anyway, enjoy-

"You want to what?" The taller man blinked in surprise, his reptilian eyes looking down at the other's innocent smile.

The other man laughed, his eyes closing as his smile grew wider. He rested his chin on the palm of his hand, his elbow propped up on the table they were sitting at. "I want to fight you." He said cheerfully. "Come on Zhongli, what's wrong with a simple brawl? I've always wanted to know what it's like to fight a god."

Zhongli sighed, his eyes flicking away again as he set down the cup of tea he was previously drinking. "I'm hardly a god anymore, Childe, you know that."

Childe let out a laugh. "That doesn't change the fact you are powerful. We can even make this interesting and make ourselves a little contract." He knew he won by bringing up contracts. The older man was ever so fond of making them when doing something.

Zhongli sighed again, looking over at Childe again. "What are the terms?" He asked, finally giving in to the redhead's demands.

Childe's eyes lit up, almost sparkling as he thought of what would come next. "Whoever scratches the other first wins. If I win, you do whatever I want for an hour. If you win, I do what you want for an hour."

The taller man nodded before standing up. "I agree to your terms. I will find a place for our match. I trust you will take care of the expenses for our lunch?"

The redhead laughed as he took out a heavy pouch of mora. "You know I will. I'm looking forward to our match, old man."

They decided to meet at dusk to minimize the chance of someone interrupting them. They met in the large fields south of Wangshu Inn. The mix of plains, rivers, and rocks made it the perfect land for a brawl. Zhongli stepped towards the grinning Childe, his hair flowing in the slight breeze. Childe twirled his bow in his hands as he took a step forward as well. "You're enjoying this more than you should," Zhongli commented. He stood still, patiently watching for Childe's first move. The redhead laughed as he slowly walked closer to Zhongli. "It's not every day I get to fight someone stronger than me. It's thrilling, no?" The taller dipped his head, calmly acknowledging his opponent's words. "I suppose it is." "Enough chatter," Childe said suddenly. He stepped away from the taller and readied his bow. "I want to see what you're made of." He shot a quick series of hydro arrows towards the taller. Just before they could hit, Zhongli yelled, "Solidify." A stone pillar erupted from the ground. Chunks of rock swirled around the geo user, forming an earthen shield. He brandished his polearm before rushing towards the hydro user. He went to stab him only to find his attack blocked by a hydro polearm. Childe pushed the other polearm away from him before slicing at the shield. "Not bad, not bad." He purred. "But I know you can do better." "Be quiet," Zhongli said firmly before rushing forward again. Steel met water as they fought. They circled each other, trying every attack possible only to fail. Eventually, they split apart. They clutched onto their weapons as they panted for breath. "I...I have to admit. You are quite the match." Childe chuckled as he studied his opponent. Zhongli had sweat dripping from his forehead. His long hair had come out of his ponytail at some point and now flowed behind him. His normally pristine clothing was sweat-soaked and rumpled. It was exciting, to say the least. The archon was normally so composed, it was rare to see him like this.

He let his mind drift for a moment while they recovered. He wanted to see Zhongli like this more often. The frustration that burned in his eyes made him all the more excited. He slowly walked closer to the archon. "You aren't looking too good old man, how about we call it a day?" Zhongli eyed him warily as he walked closer. He shook his head before standing up straight. "We made a contract. I will not break it." He said firmly. "Oh, that won't be an issue." Childe stepped inside of the shield, a small blade forming in his hand. He slowly slid the blade across Zhongli's thigh, a small trail of blood being left behind. "I win~"
