I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER OR ANYTHING RELATED TO IT, I ONLY OWN THIS STORY.
"Er," said Harry Potter, 1995, "I don't think their memory wipe worked."
"HARRY!" yelled Hermione Granger, the future, "YOU MEANT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!"
"YOU HAVE NO PROOF! " shouted Harry, diving for cover.
"Oh dear," said Albus Dumbledore, eyes twinkling merrily.
When we saw them last, our protagonists, split between 1995 and 2015, were coming to the realisation that, whether or not Harry Potter had had anything to do with it (or whether it was just their normal luck), the memory wipe on the people of 1995 had failed to do its job, and had in fact left them with a complete recollection of the previous hours. Since then, several minutes had passed (in the future; for now, let us leave the past as if someone has pressed pause, and concentrate solely on the freaking out of the people of the future.
"What do we do now?" said Hermione, panicking. "WHAT DO WE DO?"
"Calm down," offered Ginny. "Not freak out."
"That isn't really an option here," said Ron, who was freaking out just as much as Hermione was.
"I'm certainly finding it an option," said James. "Why? What is there to worry about?"
"EVERYTHING!" wailed Hermione. Harry had not contributed to this conversation, seeing as he was still giggling hysterically after Hermione had hit him with the tickling jinx, and he was neither concentrating on their discussion nor speaking coherently.
"What happened?" asked Teddy.
"We, ah, may have, well, you see, thememorycharmdidn'twork." said Ron.
"WHAT?" yelped Albus.
"YAY!" yelled Lily. "We can go back an' see them!"
"Oh dear." said James gleefully, then added to Lily, "so much chaos!"
"The world might be ending!" said Hermione, almost crying. "If we've changed the past, what's to say that the future we know won't die? Or that the whole universe will implode? This is why you shouldn't mess around with time, who knows what might happen?"
"Don't worry, the world doesn't seem to be ending, we'll deal with this." said Ginny, reversing the charm on Harry.
"Or we've already dealt with this," he said helpfully, then cowered away as Hermione glowered at him.
"NOT HELPING HARRY JAMES POTTER AND I KNOW THAT SOMEHOW THIS IS YOUR FAULT-"
"Here," said Ron, shepherding the children out of the room. "Have some hot chocolate."
"Thanks!" said Albus, instantly forgetting about the time travel trouble with the single-mindedness of a nine-year-old offered sugar.
"But- time- their memories-" started Teddy. Ron waved a mug of hot chocolate above his head and he caved.
