Erin
In the morning, I pull on my silk-made tank top and jeans and pull on my leather combat boots. Lacing up the boots, I head outside into the cold dawn. I giggle as the brisk air brushes my skin, then grab my silk cutter and head deep into the forest.
Finally finding my silk plants, I chop a few down, thanking the Forest Gods, my family's religion, for them, then tie them into a bundle with a vine. Slinging the bundle over my shoulder, I head back home.
When I finally reach the top of the hill, I find my brothers preparing for the day. Andre is preparing wooden swords for our training session later, Martin is fixing our hunting bows, and Arthur is rubbing mud onto the cave walls. They all turn as I enter the cave. I turn to Andre.
"What's my schedule for today?," I ask Andre. He smiles at my usual optimism. I'm a hard worker, I always have been. I start my day early and end it late, just like my brothers.
"First," Andre says, "you weave some blankets for the upcoming winter." Blankets. My specialty. "Then, you'll help Arthur spread that mud." He nods to Arthur. "Then you and I, along with Martin, are going out on a hike for our work out." I nod, and we go about our days.
