The rest of the dinner went surprisingly well and normal. I could not belive how nice and caring parents like Anne and Robin could live with Harry and handle my father.
"So how is school?" Anne asked, smiling warmly. She always knew how to start a conversation.
"It's good." I replied, returning the smile. I glanced towards Harry who still had his eyes on the red marks on my eyes.
"I think you should all know that Marisa is a brilliant student." Harry said, nodding his head towards my father.
"Well you should see her at home, very lazy." My dad said, chuckling. Anne and Robin faked a smile together but Harry stayed silent.
"I'm sure that's not true." Anne said. "So there is a school dance coming up, I believe?"
Harry and I mumbled together while nodding our heads.
"Marisa, are you going with anyone?" Anne asked, grabbing Robin's hand and locking her fingers around his.
"I wasn't thinking of going..."
"Nonsense! Harry and Brooke were planning on going together, you should join them!" Anne said, smiling. She was oblivious to Harry and I not being close to each other anymore.
"I don't know about that." Harry finally stepped in.
"Harry." Anne glared at him silently.
"The dance is not until Friday, we can figure it out later." Robin said, trying to lighten the mood.

Right after we got home, my father did not do or say anything to me. However, I could hear him stomping around the house with various bottles. I threw on a maroon sweater and light jeans, tossing my hair in a high bun. When my mother was still here, she constantly took me shopping which has given me clothes today.
I quietly walked out of the broken house with my father passed out on the couch, clutching a bottle to his chest. I sighed and simply just wished that everything was normal like before. I waved and smiled to the secretary like usual and walked to my locker.
I ripped the notes off my locker that said various insults. Harry's girlfriend walked towards me.
"So I heard you want to go to the dance with Harry and I?" Brooke said, a group of followers surrounding her.
"Uh n-no. I never said that-" I began to say but was cut off.
"Nobody wants to see you in a dress, alright?" Brooke laughed and high-fived her best friend, Janel who was just as fake as she was.
"And you will never have a chance with Harry!" Janel exclaimed.
"Or anyone!" Brooke added.
"Are you supposed to be with Harry?" I asked, curious to where he was.
"Why does it matter?" Janel responded.
"I don't follow and stalk him all the time like you do, Marisa!" Brooke said, laughing at her own comeback.
I slammed my locker shut and ignored the rest of their comments. All I cared about if Harry was alright since he didn't beat me up in the morning like he usually does. Maybe he changed after the dinner last night...unlikely!
