From Fears to Tears

Jungkook is taking out the trash at the back of the restaurant he is working at. Wearing white longsleeves with black slacks for their uniform, matched with an apron. When he is putting the garbage bag inside the trash chute, he becomes aware of a man standing by the corner of the block from his peripheral vision, it looks like he is observing something from the surrounding. But when the man noticed Jungkook turning his head to look at him, he started running away.

Jungkook did not give much thought to the man after the incident as he needs to hurry home to cook dinner and do the laundry. Jimin and Jungkook have been living together for five years now. The apartment where they are staying was given to Jimin by his parents as a gift for his high school graduation. He stayed there when he was studying in college. Then, Jimin found Jungkook by accident one day and decided to adopt and keep him like a lost puppy. Jungkook did not complain and easily accepted the offer as he had nowhere else to go.

They are living in Garyx Tower, a high-end apartment complex in Seoul where no ordinary person can afford. It is only a five-storey building, but the amenities it offers are exquisite. The gym and pool are spacious like in a hotel. The fifth floor has only four doors, each door leads to a 500 square meter apartment, the windows are floor to ceiling with a height of 20 feet in which you could add another floor, but no, they decided to hang a gigantic chandelier.

Jimin is working as an Art Director at Sining Art Center. As an Art graduate himself, his parents gave him an entire building as a graduation gift for finishing college, and he renovated his present to turn it into a place to exhibit his works. His family is very well off and he doesn't really need to work, but he wants to make a name for himself without the help of his parents. Growing up, he was given everything, more than what he really needs. He can be compared to royalty nowadays by the amount of assets his family have.

Jungkook has now changed into a pair of sweats and is happily humming while swinging his hips from left to right in the wide kitchen while chopping carrots. He has decided that they will have curry for dinner. He is not really obligated to do any house work but he feels bad to be freeloading on Jimin. Even if the latter said that he can hire housekeepers, Jungkook insisted on doing the things inside the house to show his gratitude. He doesn't have anywhere to go and has no memory from before he was found by Jimin. No, this is not your typical amnesia novel in which the lead needs to look for his memories. They are both happy the way they are and Jungkook believes that there is a reason that he can't remember anything and doesn't want to try remembering at all.

When Jungkook can sense that Jimin is coming, he excitedly goes to the door. He can hear Jimin's footsteps even though the walls of the apartment are sound proofed, or sometimes he can smell Jimin's cologne or his shampoo even before he enters the door. When he arrives at the door, he comes back to the kitchen to have a mental battle with himself which is happening most of the time lately. No, Jungkook! Control yourself. Why would you greet him as soon as he gets home. You will look creepy. He returned back to cutting the remaining carrots and potatoes.

"I'm home!", Jimin greeted while he approached the kitchen, but Jungkook did not look at him and just hummed in acknowledgement.

Good job, Jungkook! That looks natural, don't show your emotions or you will be out of this house in no time.

He realized his feelings for Jimin a few months back when the art director bought him a cake. Since he doesn't remember his own birthday, Jimin always makes sure to give Jungkook a cake on the date that they first meet each other. It's nothing much, and he has been doing it for the last five years. But in that moment, he has started to notice the bright smile that Jimin gave while singing him a happy birthday song, his beautiful eyes that can hold the galaxy and his generous heart that is always thinking of others first.
