The soul's journey back to the creator through multiple physical incarnations. In each lifetime, the soul returns to learn something new and correct a different aspect itself.

However don't be mistaken.  Reincarnation is a privilege, not a right.  If this amazing oddity was offered to every human in existence, what would be the purpose of life?  Death wouldn't be feared, and life wouldn't be appreciated.

It's like when you're on the boss level in Super Mario Bros, and you keep dying because Bowser is just too over powered.  Yeah you're annoyed, but you aren't too worried because you have eight lives left.  So you fuck around, and try your best until you reach your final life.  Now you sit up in your seat from your initial slouching position because things just got serious.  You only have one life left.

Life should be taken seriously.  Live it like it's your last, because technically it is.  It should be understood that the action of a soul being reborn is given out very rarely.  There are three situation in which the rebirth of a soul would even be considered:

1. There are souls that have sinned in their first life, and they haven't repented their actions in their time alive.  If the spirit realm feels like they haven't reflected or overcome their actions in their first life, they will be given a second chance at life.  Either to be given the chance to atone for their sins or to overcome them.

2. The second situation is not as complex as the first.  Some souls are rebirthed and brought back to Earth to provide benefit for others, just like they did in their first life.  If the spirit realm feels like you have proven yourself to be a good Samaritan in your first life, and can benefit an individual or generation in the future, congrats you might just be reincarnated.

3. The third and final situation is the rarest.  When the spirit realm feels like you have been wronged in your first life, and were unable to complete your purpose in life due to poor luck, you will be reborn.

Now you may be wondering who holds this great power?  Who decides if an individual will be given another shot at life.  Well it's no other then Jennie Kim, the goddess of life, death, and rebirth.

————x————

Jennie first met the original souls of Y/n and Rosé in their first life time. She had been following along with the two ill-fated lovers for about a year.

The raven haired goddess was one of the busiest deities in the spirit realm considering she had to scope out and observe the lives of many on Earth.  There was no room for her to miss even the slightest details of a life that she was considering to give a second chance to.

Even though Jennie should've given all humans equal attention when observing their lives, the woman couldn't help but pay extra attention to the lives of Rosé and Y/n.

Y/n and Rosé were soulmates, both brought into this world with the purpose of loving each other.  That shouldn't be too hard to achieve, but considering the time period they were living in; the 1800s, the large divide in social status between the two, the conservative country they were living in; Korea, and the fact that they were both girls, Jennie remembers the words that first left her mouth when analyzing the situation:
