A Story in Liyue

In Liyue, the City of Contracts, Liyue Harbor is the center of trade in all of Teyvat. It is extremely popular for its successful business, wealth and its floating Jade Chamber, where the Qixing monitor the nation from above. Its culture and tradition, like all the other nations, is unique in its own way and annual events such as the Lantern Rite Festival surely cannot be missed.

Even now that a lot of changes have occurred, the business in Liyue Harbor is as prosperous as it was. It was always the same as it had always been, the streets bustling with merchants and customers, to sailors getting ready to set sail. In the midst of the commotion was a boy of blue wandering aimlessly, holding a popsicle in one hand.

Chongyun licked the blue popsicle as he strolled around Liyue Harbor. The sun was scorching hot and its rays pierced through the thin white clouds, shining on the poor boy. The air around him was heavy and humid and his neck was wet with sweat. Chongyun would surely faint at this rate. Yesterday, he was the lucky person to try out Wanmin Restaurant's new recipe, Spicy Jueyun Soup, for free, and had lost his mind for the whole night. If he wanted to subdue his yang energy, Chongyun would have to avoid anything that heats him up, or even think of anything hot.

He bit the last piece of the popsicle and threw the lone stick in a trash can. He would need to make more of those popsicles before he could go out searching for clients or ghosts.

Maybe I should just move to Dragonspine, Chongyun thought as he ambled. That way I would never have to worry about any heat waves like this.

He was just thinking about how nice it would be to live next to a cold snowy mountain when he felt a small gust of wind on the back of his neck. It was brief and sharp, like a cold front passing by. Surprised, he quickly covered his nape and looked behind him. There was no one there.

"I must be imagining things," the boy thought as he rubbed his neck and stood rooted to his position. It couldn't have been a ghost. His yang energy would've driven it away. Chongyun simply thought that the heat was getting to him and decided to find somewhere to cool off.

Just as he looked around the shops and stands nearby, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Chongyun took a step back to turn around but tripped on something before stumbling and losing his balance. Chongyun's eyes closed shut in distress. He was going to fall and bump his head on the hard pavement when he was caught by an outstretched hand. Chongyun slowly opened his eyes and found himself face to face with a pair of golden ones.

"Aww, and I hadn't even started my ruse yet..." The charming boy smiled innocently at the astonished Chongyun. The boy had dark blue hair and wore a blue piercing on his right ear. He helped him get back on his feet and stood beside him, patting his head reassuringly. Chongyun briefly caught sight of the Hydro vision pinned on the boy's coat. His own vision was a Cryo one.

"At this point I should've known that it was just you," Chongyun said, meeting the boy's eyes, crossing his arms and letting out a sigh.

"But you didn't, did you?" the dark blue haired, golden eyed boy responded teasingly. "Should I pamper you with more tricks up my sleeve to let you know?"

"Alright Xingqiu, you got me. That was really pathetic of me, I know." Chongyun rolled his eyes as Xingqiu let out a small giggle.

"You just fall for my antics too easily, yet your reactions never fail to delight me. You should have gotten used to me by now, perhaps you need to keep a close eye on your surroundings. Who knows when a ghost will suddenly show up and mess with your head eternally? I certainly wouldn't mind if I was that ghost. Ahahahah!" Xingqiu laughed. It was hard to believe he was actually the son of the Feiyun Commerce Guild and a master of Guhua arts.
