Melanie sat alone in the garden, staring blankly at the ladybird, crawling at the back of her palm. She slapped her other palm on it, killing the insect instantly.

She had no reason to. The ladybird wasn't annoying her, like a fly. It was innocent, and yet she loathed it, for it had more freedom than her.
She had been reduced to bitter envy for a tiny, defenceless insect.

"Mel, come inside. Lunch is ready."
Lorenzo called out.
She quietly got up, and headed to the dining room. He's at at the head of the table with her place always being at his right, but surprisingly, there was a third person joining them for their meal.
She was seated at Lorenzo's left.

She had short raven hair, with bangs.
Her face was sharp enough to pull off her bob.
She was dressed in a casual crop top and a pair of skinny jeans, some lipgloss and mascara, and yet she was breathtaking.

Her head turned to Melanie, as she watched her enter with her gleaming amber eyes. She flashed her a bright warm smile, which initially Melanie planned to ignore, but realising that Lorenzo may kill this girl if she suspected anything fishy, Melanie quickly smiled back.

Lorenzo turned and smiled himself.
"Come Angel. I have a surprise for you." He got up and pulled out the chair for Melanie, and tucked her in, before sitting back down.
"This is Fiona. She's my cousin sister."

Melanie found it strange that he chose to introduce a family member to her. He'd never done this before.
"It's so good to finally meet you Melanie. I've heard so much about you." She smiled, reaching out her hand, placing it on Melanie's palm.
Unfortunately she couldn't slap it away like she did the ladybird.

"It's really nice to meet you too, Fiona."
"Fiona was in town for a business meeting and decided to pay us a visit." Lorenzo clarified.
Melanie nodded.
"I've been dying to meet you Melanie." Her accent was thick, but it only made her more exotic.
"I'm so happy to have a new sister joining the family." She squealed in excitement.

Melanie gave her a quick smile, before giving Lorenzo a slightly puzzled look.
He chuckled at Melanie's expression.
"We're getting married soon Angel, don't be such a tease."
His word left her stunned.
She felt like she'd been hit by a truck, no, a bulldozer.

'Married! We're getting married!'

Her thoughts hammered through her brain, causing her a headache.
"Melanie, is everything alright?" Fiona asked, sensing the tension in the air.
"Y-yes...umm, would you please excuse me...I d-don't feel t-too well..."
Melanie mumbled in a rush and stood up, making her way to the door.

"Melanie, I wouldn't walk out of this room if I were you." Lorenzo's ominous tone made Melanie freeze at her spot.
She hesitantly turned to face him. He was definitely pissed.
He got up and with a quick stride stood in front of her.
