"YOU'RE SO FUCKING stupid, you know that Jeon?" Nari says as she dabs Jungkook's wounds with antiseptic. Jungkook only manages to let out a small sigh, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly. His mind drifts off to space, staring at the photo frame that held a picture of him and Nari catching butterflies together when they were kids.
"You're lucky I'm your best friend, others would leave you out to rot in the cold" Nari finishes tending to Jungkook wounds by carefully wrapping the last bandage on Jungkook's left forearm.
"And you're lucky we both don't have classes tomorrow you little dipshit" she slightly fumes, applying small pressure on Jungkook's arm to show her faint frustration towards her losing one hour of her precious sleep, but of course she didn't mind helping out her best friend of 15 years. He'd do the same thing for her too in a blink of an eye. Without a doubt.
Handing Jungkook his hoodie and boxers, Nari cleans up her first aid kit while Jungkook undresses behind her. It wasn't strange for Nari to have Jungkook's clothes stored in her apartment, he was probably in her apartment more than even in his own house.
"Ready to go to sleep Kook? Or do you want to tell me what happened?" Nari asks Jungkook before she tucks herself and Jungkook in bed. Jungkook contemplates the thought of telling her the story, staring at the small mole she had under her right eye. He shakes his head while muttering the words 'tomorrow', deciding it was better to tell her what happened when his head didn't feel like it hit a lamp post.
"Okay, good night Kook, rest well" Nari turns to the opposite side of her bed, and switches off her bed side lamp.

Nari shifts her weight to the right side of her bed, expecting a warm body next to her. Instead, when she extends her hands, giving slight stretch to her muscles, only cold sheets caress her skin. Realising Jungkook wasn't by her side anymore, Nari slowly rises from the bed and makes her way to the bathroom to freshen herself up. With a quick glance towards her watch resting on her wrist, she begins brushing her teeth. It was nearly 7 in the morning. Nari knew Jungkook was an early bird, unlike her, a night owl, only waking up if she was forced to. Today was an exception though. Was it because her body felt the emptiness next to her? Nari wondered where her best friend was at the wee hours of dawn. His phone and wallet were still on her bedside table, he couldn't have gone home without his own phone.
After cleaning herself up, satisfied with a decent look to start the day finishing her overdue assignments stacked up on her desk, she decides to cook a small breakfast for her and Jungkook. It wasn't long until she finished making two plates of her signature smothering pancakes with maple syrup.
A loud thump resounds at Nari's front hallway, followed by muffled whines. Nari chuckles to herself when she sees Gureum, Jungkook's dog jumping enthusiastically between Jungkook's legs, excited to see her father after a whole week being cooped up in Nari's apartment. Why was Jungkook's dog in Nari's apartment and not in his home? Well, for starters, the main reason was because of his current hectic schedule, worrying he couldn't take care of Gureum while he was busy preparing for his upcoming KMLE in a few more months. The second reason was, well, he was always at Nari's house whenever he wasn't stuffing his nose in a medical book in the library, or at Taehyung and Jimin's shared apartment playing Overwatch together.
"Hey Kook, where'd you run off to so early in the morning?" Nari asks, gently sliding Jungkook's plate full of sweetness towards the other side of the island, while Jungkook takes off his sports shoes, yeeting his duffel bag on her couch as he walks towards her direction.
Nari noticed Jungkook was wearing different clothes from yesterday, matching Nike shorts and shirt adorned on his fit body, and airpods stuck in his ears. His hair was slightly wet due to his sweat, and Nari just couldn't help but to stare and admire at how beautiful Jungkook was in front of her.
"I went on a short run"
"You mean you went back to your home and than ran back here when you could've saved 15 minutes of your Saturday without coming back here?" Nari raises an eyebrow.
"Don't act like you didn't miss me for the past hour I wasn't here" I did.
"I wouldn't want to stroke your ego Jeon, besides why would I miss you when I have Gureum by my side?" Nari joins Jungkook by sitting on the opposite side of him, stabbing a fork into three pancakes at once and stuffing them all in her mouth.
"I still don't get how you manage to get so much food in your mouth" Jungkook copies what Nari does and also fits three full pancakes in his mouth, not without chocking a little before thoroughly swallowing it down into his throat. "God your pancakes are always so good"
"I know," Nari takes a sip from her coffee. "So you wanna talk about yesterday?"
Jungkook stops stuffing his pancakes into his mouth and slowly shifts his eyes towards Nari. He lets out a sigh.
"They don't want to let me go without a fight"
"Why can't they just forget about you? You already bailed them out, what more do they want?" Nari exclaims.
"They want me to suffer how they suffered, I guess" Jungkook lowers his head, letting his bangs hide his doe eyes.
"That's just pure bullshit seriously" Nari annoyingly says. She just doesn't understand.
A sudden phone call broke both of them from their trance. The words 'Jung Jaehyun' illuminate Nari's phone, and Jungkook was able to see who the caller was before Nari snatched her phone from the island.
"Hey Jaehyun, what's up?" Nari answers in a sweet cherry voice, making Jungkook cringe from the sudden change. He stops making vomit faces to Nari after he sees her face switch from a wide smile to a slight frown, the creases near her eyes disappearing from sight.
"Oh, okay no, no no bad feelings at all, uhm I guess, have a nice date with Wendy, b-bye" Nari slumps her shoulders and ends the call before her voice started to break.
Jungkook sees the tears start to form in Nari's eyes and he immediately opens his arms for her to run into, engulfing her in a comforting warm hug, just as he always did.
