I woke up this morning with rain, a wave of comfort took over me. I loved rain and always preferred for days to be cloudy or rainy if I got lucky. No one understood why I loved the sky so much but I've always found it charming, some even joke saying that I fancy the sky more then any guy here at school. Well I don't even know at this point, four years at Hogwarts and I've never found anyone charming, not even a little.
Everyone gathered in the Great Hall soaked wet from the rain. There it was, the Goblet of Fire, in the middle of the room with a circle around it, the blue fire illuminated the whole Great Hall. Dumbledore gave a speech about it when we all arrived but I didn't pay much attention since I was sitting next to an annoying hufflepuff who wouldn't stop talking. The only thing I remember was the entrance of the two schools invited at Hogwarts. I didn't even get to hear the other speech by Bartemius Crouch Sr.
I sat in front of it where it was most visable, of course with another bench on the other side, Susan and Ginny were next to me. Suddenly people cheered for someone entering and I assumed it was Dumbledore, but I was wrong. A strange hufflepuff I've never seen, he was tall and had brown hair, with a square shaped jawline. I looked over at Susan on my right side, her eyes were locked on him.
Did people really fancy this guy?
He looked rather just like any other guy at school, I see nothing special in him.
Although, he is quite cute.
He put a small piece of paper in the Goblet, meaning he put his name in there. Everyone cheered after he was finished and his eyes turned to meet mine. He smiled a bit, making me blush. I quickly turned to look away and covered my face. Ginny took her hands away and looked at me, a grin formed on her face.
"Looks like someone has their first crush!" She says, I shush her and hit her on the arm. Susan and Ginny both laugh but I try my best to make the red of my face go away. That's when I heard another cheer and looked up, the twins had arrived and they were headed this way. They laughed with the people cheering.
"That's the potion they wanted you to help them with." Ginny looked at me, a confused look on my face.
"Then why- how," I paused, last night I was missing one of my books, Fred had tricked me and took my book. They didn't need me, they just wanted a stupid book they could have asked for.
"Well- I'm not sure, but they always do that, and I don't blame you for being surprised." Ginny glared at Fred and George, they started walking over here as I groaned. "No why did you do that Ginny."
"Hey why the mad face?" George sits next to Ginny and Fred sits next to Susan.
"Get out of here before I hit you." Ginny threatens him, he laughs. I look in front of me, trying to observe everyone else in the Great Hall.
"You know Fred, you could have asked for the book." I said not able to hold it in anymore. His face expression drops to a surprised one. Susan oohed and looked down, supporting me in standing up to Fred.
"You know the book knows more than you, and if you think about it you weren't much help-"
"Actually I know more than the books, I have spent countless days studying and missing several occasions just to learn more and more, I have only failed 2 tests through out my life here at Hogwarts, and I'm definitely more smarter than you. So if you think a book would know more than me then you're just foolish." I say, unbothered. Ginny and George look at me shocked at what I had spat to Fred, even Susan was surprised. Fred stays silent and stares at me, I could have sworn a tiny part of his mouth grinned, pleased at my emotion. I looked away and back at the goblet of fire, fixing my robe and clearing my throat.
"I guess I'm foolish then." Fred said before standing up with George, both of them walked away.
"Ready Fred?" George asked, "Ready George." Fred responded
"Bottoms up!" Both of them crossed arms with each other, drinking the small vial.
"He's pathetic." I scoff.
"He? Are you talking about Fred or George?" Susan asked, a smirk on her face.
"Both." I say.
They jump in the circle, waiting for any reaction, when nothing happens, they cheer as everyone does the same. They drop their names in the goblet, and when they do, nothing happens, again. They started to cheer.
I felt myself getting angry, it wasn't fair and it didn't make sense how it worked-
People being flung interrupted my thoughts, Fred and George were no longer in the circle, but on the floor far away from it, they immediately started aging- well only their hair. Which went from ginger to pure gray and white, messy as they also grew beards. Everyone laughed as Fred and George wrestled each other, "You said!" "You said!" both of them were fighting each other.
I smirked, knowing that I had succeeded made me even more confident. Susan and Ginny laughed as the crowd surrounding Fred and George yelled, "Fight!" over and over again. Even Harry and Ron were encouraging them to fight.
"Yeah I guess he's right, he really is foolish." I say, Susan and Ginny laugh at my comment.
・・・
Dumbledore had finished picking out the wizards competing for the Triwizard tournament. Cedric Diggory, Fleur Delacour, and Viktor Krum. Dumbledore walked to the front of the Great Hall, where every other Professor was at. He revealed the Triwizard Cup, suddenly Professor Snape looked at the goblet confused. Dumbledore did the same, everyone else followed. A small paper flew out of the goblet as Dumbledore catched it, we could see him become frozen, all of us were confused. It was only supposed to be 3.
"Harry Potter!" He shouted, looking around. I looked over where he was at with Ron and Hermione, she pushed Harry and whispered him to go over there. He got up and started walking towards Dumbledore, who had an angry expression on his face. He handed him the note, Harry kept walking until he was gone. People shouted stuff and Dumbledore immediately dismissed us all, telling us to return to our common rooms as we waited for what was going to happen next. We all got up and I spotted Fred and George with their robe hats on, they clearly weren't happy that they failed.
・・・
"That escalated fast." Susan says as we fall on the sofa, Everyone else chatted while Ginny, Susan, and I were all laying down, tired.
"My back hurts, they should really get actual chairs. I'm sort of tired with my back leaning on nothing." Ginny complains, I laugh at her statement.
"You have 4 more years here, and you're already complaining." Ginny is in 3rd year but that never stopped Susan and I to hang out with her and accept her as one of our friends. Ginny chuckles at what I said in response and rolled her eyes at me.
"Now that I think about it, what are we going to wear for the Yule Ball?" Susan asked, I haven't thought of that recently. Maybe it was because I had way too much on my mind, especially with my studies.
"Well mum made me a dress that I'll be wearing and it's mint color, my favorite." Ginny replied. "it's quite brilliant." She says.
"Maybe I can ask mum to make some for you guys!" Ginny requested, Susan and I looked at each other and nodded.
"We wouldn't want to bother her-"
"No it's okay, mum doesn't mind at all, trust me." Ginny calmed us down, one worry lifted off my shoulders, it felt good.
