Dear Diary, December 14th

Like I said last page, I hope we get more Building and progress done today, well we did. The cabin looks nice so far and we've named it goldhaven. You know? Like Greenhaven? Even though we don't want anything to do with the Greencloaks anymore, I feel like we should name it that. Anyway, We've made the base of the build and down a quarter of the staircase that goes up the mountain. The place that we chose was on the side of a cliff with a secret door which leads to the staircase. With all of that out of the way, time to tell you what we got done today.

Rant:

Me and August did the most resource gathering while Claw and Alister did the base. Kyle was collecting more food since he's the nerd chef of the group and loves cooking. What's even great about cooking? Sure you can create a wonderful, homemade dish, but what's so bad about just going, hunting an animal then cooking it over a camp fire? I would prefer that. It's easy, quick and tastes good.

Back to the point, me and August collecting resources. We did well for around a couple hours when we needed a break, had a small snack( which we shared with Daisy and Jack) and chatted for a while. Can I just say, HOW DO ALISTER AND KYLE RESIST GIVING EXTRA FOOD TO THEIR PARTNERS!? Me and August give in as soon as the cuddle up to us and look at us, they're so cute! Distracted, again, sorry about that. ANYWAY, we ran into some trouble while having a break. Let's just say that when Claw found the scene he screamed out loud. Well, it was a couple of Greencloaks, exploring the area and investigating the light coming from our sunset base. They didn't get to tell Olvan what they saw. We got much wood, maybe around enough to build half of the base without going to get more in between and the polishing was easy, well....I didn't know how to do it, so August did it. But because I'm stronger than August and Alister, I carried it back to camp.

We usually build up to around 3-6 hours while Claw and Alister do it when we gather resources and today we got to do 8 hours because we had got so much wood in little time. When we got back (around 8Pm) Kyle wasn't back so Me and Claw were sent to look for him.
It basically went down like this:
"Kyle?"Claw yelled as I swiped away yet another thorn bush. We had been searching for a while but didn't seem to get any sign of Kyle.
"Kyle, where are you? It's not funny anymore!"I shouted, climbing up a tree.
"What are you doing?" Claw asked as I scouted the nearby forest.
"I can see much thanks to jack's keen senses, unlike Otto. What can you do with a golden tiger? Barf out gold? Grow golden claws? Unlike Otto, Jack has good powers,"I replied, grabbing another branch and heaving myself up.
"Well, uhhh-"Claw stuttered as I rolled my eyes.
The higher I went, the more I could see, yet no sign of Kyle. In the corner of my eye, I could see black wrap around the tree, hooking on any twig it could find. It caught my attention, and Jack's too since he climbed to where the growing infection laid. I tightly gripped my Axe at my belt, a guy feeling told me it was something that wasn't meant to be in a forest. Gold-coloured goo spilled out from the top, creating a new layer.
"Yuck!"I said, grabbing up to a branch Jack was on and getting a good grip. The branch was pretty high, yet Jack wasn't coming down.
"Jack, come down bud. I don't think we should get too close,"I told him, yet he wouldn't budge. His ears twitched and his tail swiped between his legs as he showed of his black, sharp claws.
"Jack! Come down buddy!"I repeated, the wolf still not moving. I looked up, the branch he was on was taller then me, but I pulled through. Grabbing a smaller one from the side of the trunk, I collapsed my feet onto the bark, now in a diagonal position. Pulling myself up another branch, I let my feet dangle off of the tree.
Don't look down, you can't here him! I told myself, yet I knew I was going too and I knew that I would give in and listen to my panicked brother. Pushing the concern aside, I took one final leap in the air and hooked my hands around the branch. Slowly heaving myself up, I finally looked at my storm- furred friend. The ink was spilling closer and closer, almost touching his paw as I started to become panicked. I looked down, realising that I was around 50 feet off of the ground. Claw was gone and The tree kept expanding. I tried reaching my hand out to his paw, but it was to late. The black mixture consumed him and a tentacle slammed into my head, pushing me off. When I fell, it felt like the world had disappeared and I was just infinitely falling. I don't remember much, only the pain of finally hitting the ground. I didn't care about the pain that surrounded my body. I was paralysed but so happy to be back on the ground. I opened my eyes, leaning up and looking around, my cyan mask was next me, with cracks in the sides.
"Where's Jack!?"I shouted, trying to get up but failed with pain wrapping around my leg like tape.
"Jack's unconscious but what was that? You both sort of froze before passing out,"Claw said as he sat down next to me. Realisation hit me.
But was it a dream?
I turned my head to see Alister, August and KYLE!
"Kyle!"I joyfully shouted.
"Yeah, he came back with Claw after you slipped out of consciousness,"Alister said, holding my hand lightly.
"Where's Jack?"I asked again, trying to put my finger on what happened.
"He's in your tent, asleep,"August said.
I didn't know what Affected us both but I know it might be something in our spirit bond. Is it cursed? Really it makes no sense, nothing does. Is it even real? Am I even real? Am I dreaming? I have so many questions, needed to be answered.
Despite the current situation, I felt cheer perk up in me as August announced that Jack was fine and here. This might be a huge mistake, but it might be better for Jack to stay away from me. I might harm him, maybe even worse. I think I'm cursed yet it might be something to do with our bond. As I'm sat here, blankly staring at the word-filled page, I can't help but worry. Black and gold fills the edges of my vision, slowly creeping into my sight, inch by inch. I feel weaker, less braver and most importantly, a constant taste for battle, for blood and for war....
