A girl, who appears to be wearing a yellow raincoat stood up, and stared down at the pit in front of her, with a smirk on her face, she giggled, then spun around and walked into the mysterious glowing door, not completely knowing where it would take her..The girl woke up in a clearing, and she glanced around, confused. She stood up, and realized how scratched and bruised her legs had been.. she hadn't noticed, as they were never painful, and she never really looked down at them. She just decided to ignore it once again, as it didn't matter, because she knew that nobody would come help her, nobody would save her, she knew she was on her own. Brushing that thought away and standing up, she walked deeper into the forest.
After walking for a while, she came across a small cottage, bright yellow walls, small windows with white frames and soft light coming from them, cozier than any house she had ever seen. She walked up to one of the windows, and saw a boy, who looked almost five, sitting at a table with a woman, who looked like his mother. The woman was tall, slim, and she had a warm, but tired smile. They both had chocolate brown hair, the woman had gray eyes, and the boy had green. The boy was doing.. something to a paper, something the girl had done once, she thought. He was smiling, and she tried to imitate him, but all she saw in the reflection of the window was an awkward frown. Then she heard voices from the cottage, and listened quietly.
"Mother! I drew this for you! Its you, me, and Evelyn!" The boy cried happily.
"I love it, but who is Evelyn.. we live alone, and we don't have any neighbors all the way out here in the forest.." The woman said, sounding tired and miserable.
She stopped listening and turned away, spelling out the name that caught her attention. "E - V - E - L - Y - N." She whispered slowly, counting the letters on her fingers. Forgetting about the name quickly, she stood up and walked back into the forest to find shelter to stay at for the night.
The girl came across another house, this time a cabin, it look abandoned though. She ran up to the window to make sure nobody was inside, and when she saw nobody , she climbed through the window, into the cabin. It wasn't furnished much, it had a rotted couch, and few books lying on the floor, and a torn rug, and that was it. She cautiously walked around, exploring, and found a door. She reached for the door knob, but hesitated. She just stood their for a while, then tried to open it, but it was jammed. After struggling for a while, it opened, but then she fell forwards down a pair of stairs.
She awoke again, this time in a cold basement, filled with old paintings, but one painting caught her eye. There was a painting of her. Horrified, she ran up the stairs, out of the cabin, through the forest, and then after running for a while, she found herself in another clearing. Her legs tired, she curled up under a tree, staying hidden in shadows, and she tried to sleep, but she saw something run past, it looked like another boy, he had a cyan sweater and jeans, and his neck was bloody. He had brown hair, and his eyes were hidden. He was barefoot, and he almost glowed, but she thought that she was hallucinating, and laid down again. But the figure stopped and looked at her, then shrieked in surprise. The figure glared at the girl, giving her a look that said "I remember what you did to me, and I will get my revenge" then ran away. She crawled out from under the tree, and stood there for a minute, not realizing that there was a girl behind her.
"Hey, I never got your name..?"
The girl whirled around to see a girl, she had her hair in a braid, tied with a blood red ribbon, she had a raincoat the same to hers on, but her hood was down. She too had no shoes just like the boy she had seen before, and she wore a crown of bright blue flowers around her face, hiding her eyes. The girl with the braided hair seemed familiar, like she had met her before.
"Name..?" She asked, trying to take words from the other girl's sentence to make her own. "Its.." She whispered softly. Then it all came back to her, who the girl was, who she was, what shes ever done, how to speak correct sentences, even her past family. Looking back at the girl, she blinked back tears. "Six, it's Six. What is yours?" She asked.
"Ah-! I don't have a name, so please just call me Raincoat Girl."
"What about the other boy, do you know him?"
"..Other boy? What boy?!" Raincoat Girl cried, losing her control over herself, surprising Six with her sudden energy. Six put her finger over her mouth, telling her to be quiet. Raincoat Girl calmed down and it was silent for a minute.
"Blood all over his neck, navy blue sweater, jeans, brown hair, covered eyes. That's him." Six finally said, breaking the silence, remembering the ghastly figure of the boy, trying to use her words to describe him.
"Runaway Kid.. he wants revenge. You did something to him, I don't know what, but you need to fix it somehow. I can assume he would leave you alone after that, but he is pretty un-predictable." Raincoat Girl explained, frowning at the mention of Runaway Kid and his plan for revenge against Six.
"There's only one child I've wronged, and that's Mono, and he deserved it. I don't remember that boy anyways." Six said, rolling her eyes when she said Mono's name.
Raincoat Girl slapped Six, angry at her for even saying that about Mono, let alone rolling her eyes at the mention on him. She had been watching Six and Mono since she had drowned, and Mono had helped Six so many times, and she said that?!-
Six drew back in surprise and anger, giving Raincoat Girl a look that said "What the hell?!" and then ran off, leaving Raincoat Girl in the clearing alone, clearly regretting what she did, as she tried to follow Six, but stopped herself. She thought it would be best to let her have some time to herself, she knew she could find her later. So she sat on a long and sang softly to herself. The song had been her mother's lullaby, she thought.
After running as far as she could, she stopped to rest again, hoping this time that "Runaway Kid" would leave her alone. "Fine. I don't need anyone to help me in this world. I can survive on my own!" She cried, tossing a rock into a pond in front of her. "I didn't need that stupid Raincoat Girl anyway." She murmured. Then, she heard a rustle in the trees. She stood up and spun around quickly, and behind her was a tall figure— The Thin Man! She gasped and ran as fast as her legs could take her. She made the mistake of looking back, seeing that he was near behind her, she ran faster, but tripped over a tree root, as she wasn't looking where she was going. She stood up, and felt a cold hand grab her. Now in the hands of Thin Man, she looked around frantically, looking for something to escape. Then she remembered.. her teeth were sharp, she could try biting him..
She took a deep breath, and then bit his hand as hard as she could. Surprised, he flinched, dropping Six. Now on the ground, she stared up at Thin Man. After staring at Six for a while, he gave her a warning look with one eye, that told her "I'm not done with you, I will get my revenge, just you wait" then disappeared. Tired and hurt, she lay on the ground, falling asleep.
