Walls of confidence crumble
From the voices that live in the dark recesses
A gorgeous garden in my mind
But the weeds keep growing in
The feelings were hurt
But never spoke up
To confront their fears
I try to hold back my tongue
I don't want to be this way
Am afraid of losing what's mine
Acting as if am invincible
I wouldn't stand in the field of flowers
And tell the peonies
They aren't beautiful
Because, they look like
Forget_me_ not
Label them unworthy
Because, that take a little longer to grow than sunflowers
Or consider them a failure
Because they bloom in a different season
Altogether to lavender
So why should I stand here in wonders
And compare myself the same way?
