The Despair of Betrayal

Prologue

6 months before the coronation ceremony 

The old dying king had asked every man in the kingdom that does not work at the castle to come up and tell him about their self, unsurprisingly everyone lied to make themselves look good except for one person, Arthur Gen, "Arthur, I have chose to make you into the new king, for I will die soon," Said the old king to Arthur "But Sire! I am but a mere citizen!" Responded Arthur "Do not worry, you will be a great ruler." The king could feel life slipping away from him "I just need to tell you one thing before I go, n-never trust a man named De-" The king had stopped talking and shut his eyes "Sire? Sire wake up! Please!" but he would not wake up, one of the guards came in "Sire, you have a let-" The guard dropped the scroll in his hand, seeing his king laying in his bed breathless "I-I don't know what happened!" Said Arthur, through tears "Hey, it's ok, he'll be fine!" Said the guard as he went over to comfort Arthur, who was on his knees crying on the floor "Maybe." The guard whispered "What?" Asked Arthur "Nothing. Hey, he picked you to be the new king right?" Asked the guard "Yeah." Responded Arthur sadly "Well then, let's go announce that to the people of our kingdom." The guard stood up and held out his hand for Arthur to grab, Arthur grabbed it and stood up. "My name is Edward by the way" Said Edward "Oh, I'm Arthur" And with that the walked to the event room in the castle.
