I took a job at this new pizza place. Freddy's Fazbear's Pizza. For some reason it sounds familiar. Wasn't there a similar pizza place? Freddybear's? That just sounds stupid. The place doesn't look too bad, from what I've seen at least; which wasn't much. My first shift is tomorrow night. For now I have to meet the manager and learn a little bit about the technology. -Mike Schmidt.
I tucked my journal under the seat of my car and unbuckled the seat belt. The building did not look so bad, the mascots staring down at the customers in the parking lot was a little creepy. But they kind of looked cute, again, in a creepy way. I got out of my car, locked it, then walked into the pizza place. Employees were getting the place ready. It smelt like pizza, sweat, and what was probably oil. I looked at the stage and there they were. A brown bear, purple rabbit, and a yellow chicken. I knew there was another one around here, but I forgot their name. I looked at the robots, they were kinda cool looking. But still put me on edge. I think the chicken is my favorite. What was her name? "My favorite has always been the rabbit." A man said. I did not know he was behind me, and nearly jumped out of my skin when he spoke with his soft British accent. I turned to look at him, and he must have noticed my surprise because he chuckled. "I didn't mean to startle you." I smiled a bit at him.
"It's okay. Just got lost in thought." I assured.
"Been there." He said with a smile. I nodded, I am sure everyone has been there. "My name is William Afton, I'm one of the managers here." He offered me a hand shake, I gave him a firm handshake.
"Mike Schmidt." I greeted.
"Ah, you must be the new night guard." He said, I nodded. "Well I'm sure it's an easy job. All you have to do is sit around, watch everything, and make sure no one gets in." He instructed. I nodded again, then looked at the animatronics.
"What about them?" I asked, motioning to the large robotic animals.
"Oh them? They will be deactivated and won't move until turned on again." Mr Afton assured. I glanced at the robots. "Let me show you your office." He put a hand on my shoulder, then led me to my new office.
The office was small and dusty. The monitors and camera system looked old. I did not even want to ask what the large doors on the side were for. William said they were there in case a robber or someone came in. In order to be safe I would shut the doors. But if the power ran out, the doors would open, for safety reasons. He told me that my first shift started tomorrow at 12 a.m. Then he gave me my very own key, patted my shoulder, and led me out of the office.
I walked to the door, connecting my new key to my keychain. I glanced at the animatronics again. They were still deactivated, stuck in a stare, like statues. But I swore Chica, that was her name, was giving me the side eye. I shuddered a bit, then left the pizzeria. I had a lot of time before my first shift, I was not going to waste it.
