Her grip was tight and shaky, holding the nearly lifeless body to her chest, which was pulsating. A consistent yet shaky pattern, as her lip began to quiver. Despite her own body being untouched, she felt as if the mental pain she felt was greater than any bullet wound. Warm waterfalls began to fall from her, dripping onto the body she once called her lover, her hands shaking worse than before as her lip quivered. She felt as if she couldn't take it anymore, she was in mental agony. Although, one thing the dear women didn't notice was the faint breaths of the husk, a chocolate brown delicate hand gently falling on her soaked sunkissed cheek. A faint gasp emerged from her chapped lips, her light brown eyes landing on a pair of deep green ones. Her breathing softly steadied as she stared, getting lost in them as she did before. Though, she soon snapped out of her fantasy as she felt her soft thumb barely manage to wipe a tear away. Focusing on her face as a whole, she noticed a soft, weak smile. It was nothing compared to the smiles she used to provide, bright and cheerful, but also occasionally, fiery and competitive. Like the sun. although..this would do. Like a dull shine brightening a once pitch black room. What she heard, a small request that may be hard to carry out, due to the circumstances. "..Smile for me..please..." a soft whisper. Her grip tightened, becoming a tad shaky once again as she squinted her eyes, and smiled. Trying to hold back anymore tears, as to not ruin it for the other. A weak chuckle lightly kissed her ears, as well as a light, quiet statement did "..there's my girl.." then, the inevitable began to happen, her hand hand began to become limp. Her half closed lids fully closing..possibly for good. When the sun kissed women noticed, tears began to well in her eyes, overflowing as they did before, her smile fading until there was very little of it left. What could she possibly do..to make these last moments mean something, she couldn't let her slip away, not with a proper goodbye. No, she wouldn't let her. She gently cupped the darker womens cheek, just as the woman had done to her earlier. This caused her to jolt faintly, as she wasn't expecting that. A spark..that was all she needed, she leaned in close, staring into her eyes and despite the salty rain, dripping from her cloudy sky she was still faintly smiling. Keeping true to her partner's request. Their lips then touched, and she tilted her head, giving her one final gift before she had to depart. She closed her own eyes, trusting that maybe, she would get something back. That she did get, but it was soft and light, similar to a feather brushing against the skin. She stayed there, hoping in the back of her head that this would be like snow white, sleeping beauty, a true loves kiss would save her from her horrid fate. But alas, life didn't work that way, nor did death. The light feather seemed to finally fall to the ground, moving past the skin of her lips. Once she opened her eyes again..her partner had departed, laying limp in her arms, as she expected. A shaky sigh poured from her, filling the silence that now surrounded her, and her now lifeless partner. She took a moment, a long moment, to process everything. To mourn the loss of the only person that brought a smile to her face, joy to her days. After that moment had passed, she took in a deep breath, a sense of temporary relief washing over her mind and soul. She then held the body in her arm, using the other to hoist herself up and onto her feet again. She stumbled, struggling to walk as her feet had gone numb..
