Screams.

Moans.

Pain.

Anger.

Suffering.

Grief.

Fear.

It's overwhelming.

It hammers into her skull.

There is no quiet.

Even with Sam, quiet and peace is hard to get.

It feels like there's a drum constantly pounding a beat inside her head and it won't stop. Finally looking up Musa finds herself infront of headmistress Dowling's office door. It makes sense to be here, she thinks. Dowling was the only person who had been able offer her any calm. A tear rolls down her cheek as another wave of emotions hits her and she lifts her hand to knock.

A simple affirmation, a shout to come in sounds from the door, so she does. She closes the door behind her, and turns to find Dowling looking at her expectantly but kindly from the desk. Then suddenly it's a though someone has smashed her walls and broken all her defences. She crumples to the floor, sobbing, holding herself as she rocks to and fro on her knees.

A warm hand is placed on her back and a sense of peace is pushed towards her. Warmth envelopes her as she takes deep shuddering breaths to calm herself. Beside her, her headmistress is kneeling on floor, her eyes closer to a crystal blue than her natural dark hazel. It makes sense, she's probably using her magic to push the warm feelings, the silence, around her mind and it's working.

"Thank you."

She barely recognises her own voice. It sounds broken, fragile.

"Come sit somewhere more comfortable than the floor."

Dowling helps her stand but when the contact between them disappears, so does the silence in her mind. As though sensing this, a hand wraps around her own as she is led to a small sofa and she welcomes the peace that follows.

"It's not easy being able to feel everything. Sometimes I forget how sensitive my students powers are at this age."

"It won't stop."

"I know."

And she does Musa realises, for she had forgotten that her headmistress was also a mind fairy.

"How do you stop it."

"With great difficulty sometimes. It's as I showed you in class. Centre in on yourself, only what you are feeling. Or focus on one other person who can bring you peace, focus only on what they are feeling. I know you do the second one quite well with Terra's brother."

The empath blushes. While she knows her relationship is not a secret, she did not think that of all people to talk to her about it, her teacher would be one of them.

"It helps."

"I know. If you have such a strong bond with someone, which I know you do as I was informed of what you were able to do with his pain during the attack, you may be able to focus on them from afar. Feel what they are feeling through your bond. It's rare, but if you allow it grow the connection can go both ways."

Nodding, the teenager smiles.

"In the meantime however, as long as you knock, you may come to my office anytime you wish, and I think setting up a weekly private lesson just to help you control your magic a little more might help you."

Hearing the undertone of a dismissal, Musa stands up, thanking her headmistress. She goes to leave but as she reaches the door, she stops.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"I've searched for information on bonds and found nothing or only a vague reference here and there, how do you know so much about them when some of what are seen as the greatest magic studiers don't?"

"Why do you think I know so much?"

The dark haired fairy thought for a moment before her eyes widened in surprise.

"You have a bond."

"Yes."

"Who..."

Musa stopped when she saw the headmistress' raised eyebrow.

"Not appropriate. Got it."

The older woman nodded and walked round to her desk.

"I'll see you here next Thursday afternoon for your private lesson."

"Ok. Thank you Miss. Dowling."
