Dr. Gavin Chunk tried to power up the machine.

It was failing.

He needed triple AAA batteries.

He mumbled a couple of things and went to his drawer and started rummaging through it.

Socrates, of course, had an idea.

He couldn't tell the others because Katelyn was playing Candy Crush.

He turned to George Washington and got his attention.

Then he pointed at Katelyn, and pointed at his legs.

He was running in place... quickly.

Washington nodded. Katelyn had the youngest and fastest legs.

Socrates pointed to his nail, then to the machine, then to Bob.

Washington didn't understand.

Socrates sighed. He walked over to Katelyn and plucked a hair from her head.

"OW!" She screamed, which wasn't good.

Chunk turned around.

Before I go any further, I want to explain the time machine a minute. I'll draw a picture...

The bold blue thing sucks you up and puts you back in time. The red thing is the sample system.

The laptop looking thing is a laptop where Chunk controls the machine.

Got it? Good. Thank you.

"What's going on?" Asked Chunk.

Socrates plucked a hair from Susan and George. Then he bit off a part of his fingernail.

He suddenly took Bob and gently chucked him over to the door.

"BOB!" Cried Katelyn. She sprinted over to pick him up.

Chunk saw that Katelyn was running to the door and screamed after her, "River! You get back here!"

Socrates ran over to the sample system and threw the hairs and the nail into the machine.

It started to rumble.

Socrates looked at Katelyn with a hopeful look, then he pulled George and Susan into the time machine.

At once, he knew he had made a mistake.

He would be stuck in that time machine for who knows how long if someone didn't get him to where he wanted to go.

Katelyn River, THE Katelyn River... yes the one from this story. The ONLY one mentioned in this story, that Katelyn looked up from her phone.

And that's not all! She noticed her friends' predicament. That's not all either! 🤯 She then went over to the computer, googled their time dimensions, (she had to ask Susan) and pressed go.

Dr. Gavin Chunk didn't notice and didn't care. He was gaping in awe.

His time machine, his time machine that he had worked on for forever... he did it, he did the impossible. He made a time machine. The hours he put into it... the sleep he lost... the consistency... he made it... his baby. He started tearing up.

Katelyn set the time machine for her dimension , glued her eyes to her phone again, and jumped into the machine.

Chunk lost it. "YIPPEE!!" He shouted. He started dancing around, his green hair flopping all over the place.
