Labyrinth

Prologue

In an ancient structure that seemed to be falling apart:
"Simon! Make sure the entrance of the labyrinth is secure. Jeremy block all monsters from escaping". The King was shouting orders at all the men when a maid came in " My King the Minotaur It's escaping, and killing all men in its path" , Everybody in the room froze the Minotaur an ancient invincible monster had escaped, meaning death and doomsday for all of them,they looked at their king who seemed deep in thought , after what seemed like eternity he regained any composure he had lost and announced "After the completion of all your duties go to the hall of mirrors " the hall of mirrors was a magical room where people who looked into the mirrors brought out their true selves and feelings. After the announcement the King ran from the  hall into maze he ran and ran taking certain turns , he knew his way around naturally so he didn't worry about getting lost finally he reached what looked like a dead end , but he looked around till his eyes landed  on a fire torch he walked to it grabbed it with his hand and turned it to the right , at first nothing happened but then there was a rubble ,then the sound of sliding tiles , the King turned around and below his feet an opening with a row of stairs he descended down the stairs while listening to the returning of the tiles then he heard a loud roar , it echoed through and bounced of walls followed by a grunt, like that of a bull ,then blood curdling screams ,he cringed but continued descending the stairs he soon reached the bottom finding himself in a  room in the centre there was a crib with a baby inside with a woman squatting beside it ,she turned around  sensing the King's presence at first looking at him with fear but her eyes softened realizing who it was , she stood up  and dusted her clothes "Harvard is everything okay? Is it safe?" She looked at him with expectation , he sighed "No Emily , everything and everywhere is falling apart the monsters are breaching our securities and escaping and to finish it up the Minotaur has escaped"and as if on cue a roar went through the halls , he looked up to see her looking at him with wide eyes letting the information sink in , he expected her to jump in fear or shout at him but instead she gained her composure and turned around to look at the baby which had woken up from whatever deep sleep it was in and started fussing , then she said "what are we going to do to save her " he blinked at her but smiled "don't worry we'll save her but we need to get her out of here to the spell room " "How do we get there with that monster on a rampage" ,the king laughed "I forgot you are not one of us by blood, if you were you would know that there are more ways to one place" he walked up to one of the torches in the  room and pulled it towards him ,then the sound of gears could be heard the one side of the wall moved to reveal a hallway ,he turned back and said to a smiling Emily "after you" Emily carried  the baby and they  ran down the hallway till they reached a dead end "where are we meant to go now " the king whispered something to the wall and it vanished revealing a room with different vials of different coloured liquids and books the king immediately carried a big yellow book which had Greek writing ( η τέχνη της τηλεμεταφοράς ) he started reading it, then a bang could be heard at the door then, silence, then another bang at the door then a roar Emily with fear lacing her voice said "Its here , Please Harvard hurry" then the door burst open and there stood the Minotaur with bloodshot eyes and blood dripping down it's horns the King said "Emily move back, the spell has been activated you and our baby girl will be teleported out of here while I distract the monster" Emily obeyed and watched a gruesome battle between the monster and the king while cradling her now crying baby in her arms soon  a bright light surrounded Emily and the baby the monster seemed to have the upper hand , Emily watched through the light and finally screamed "I can't leave you" she ran to the king who had been pushed to the wall by the Minotaur who was roaring due to the blinding light , the baby started crying  "I will always love u my darling" those were the last words said to their baby before she disappeared out of the room
