Footsteps can be heard shuffling around you, causing you discomfort.
Slowly opening your eyelids, you catch a bunch of onlookers staring at you. Some with pity in their eyes, some with disgust.'I am a well trained child you homeless corpses, keep on staring and I'll gouge your eyes out!' You mentally hiss at them, a scowl tugging at your lips.
Exhaling, you get off the wall and dust yourself off. It wasn't effective since dirt, dust and blood have been absorbed into your clothes. You couldn't imagine how horrendous you looked like right now.
You step off the boat, the wood creaking underneath your bare feet.
A temporary staying area has been fixed for the refugees, a bunch of sleeping bags sprawled across the floor. Thankfully, the place was sheltered.
You find an empty sleeping bag near a bunch of children in a group of three. Two males and a female. They were whispering amongst each other, stopping when you approached the sleeping bag beside them and drifting off into another nap.
'Carry on... I'm not into gossip'
You caught sight of their faces before blacking out. The first boy had shaggy black hair, with an elongated pale face, and a shaken expression in his pale green eyes. He looks afraid.
The second boy was shorter than the first, with cropped blond hair, furrowed brows, and hazel eyes. He seems a little uptight.
The third was a short female, with a roman nose, pale oval face, and blonde hair tied back into a bun. Her icy blue eyes seem bored.
'Shady people,' You inwardly sigh, shutting your eyes once more.
ᕙ(•̀‸•́‶)ᕗ
You were walking around the area, a few houses here and there with the occasional market stand. A few officers were handing out rations, and you rushed over to them, desperate for some food.
You stand near the blonde girl you saw earlier, who was also waiting for rations. You decided to make some friends, so you clear your throat causing her icy blue eyes to flit towards you.
"Hi! My names (Y/N)! What's yours?" You politely ask her, disregarding the fact that you still look like a mountain goblin.
The girl looks at you from the corner of her eyes, face still facing forward with the most blank expression you have ever seen someone wear. She stays quiet.
The smile on your face slowly washes away, as embarrassment soon takes over. 'It's my looks isn't it? Of course she wouldn't want to talk to someone who looks like a dirty boar... Can't blame her though, I'd ignore me too'
You face away from the girl and look down, waiting for your own food while biting the inside of your cheek and playing with the hem of your shirt. 'Why am I like this?..'
"Ugh, what a disgusting young girl." You hear someone mutter. Looking up, an officer sneers as he chucks a loaf of bread at you carelessly. You juggle the bread between your hands before it settles down onto your palm. You glare at the officer before walking away.
"Not even a thank you? Such a rude missy."
You clench your jaw, running your tongue along your teeth in frustration. That thing doesn't deserve my thanks if he's just gonna throw bread in my face. If it weren't for me catching it, I would have to starve.
A commotion in the middle of the plaza steers you away from your raging thoughts, your eyes catching sight of the familiar brunette boy from yesterday. He seems to be arguing with an officer, causing the older man to shove the boy onto the ground. You decide to quickly step in.
