Short story (happy and sad)

It was a misunderstanding

Two girls both 15 years old, Maxx Oxford and Magen Lin, were walking down to the creek where the rest of their families were. They were best friends, who did everything together- you could say they were joined at the hip. As they walked down the side of the street maxx had fallen and scraped her knee To where it was bleeding.

"I'm going to head back and bandage my knee" maxx said wincing in pain

Magen replied with "alright I wait here then" then she smiled

As maxx walked away limping, Magen played on her phone. About 20 minutes had passed and a green pick up truck pulled up next to Megan. Her Uncle Tom was in the drivers seat and he rolled his window down.

"Hey. Why you standing here?" Uncle Tom said

"Just waiting" Magen said walking towards the truck and leaning on the door

"Well you mom sent me to pick you up. So get in" Uncle Tom said unlocking the car doors

Megan went around the front of the truck and got into the passenger seat. Uncle Tom locked the doors as Megan closed the door and began to buckle up.

Megan began to question "where are we going?"

Uncle Tom ignored the question and started driving. He drove past the creek and that's when Megan began to get nervous. They drove all the way into town which was a 45 minute drive but not one word was spoken. It was silent.

As Uncle Tom parked the car he began to say "alright lets-" he was interrupted

Megan had punched him out of fear. She quickly got out the car and realized where she was. Uncle Tom got out the car confused.

"Surprise." Said Uncle Tom while holding his bloody nose.

Megan looked at him and said "sorry, I guess it was a misunderstanding."

They both laughed it off as they walked into her favorite ice cream shop.
