It was destroyed,the home and city I had lived in for years. I felt crushed, angry, and worst of all sad,but that didn't matter now the stench was horrid starting to get to me. I felt like it was abandoned I was scared that they had left me but why would they leave our city like this cold ,dark ,empty,falling apart , and abandoned.
It might have been one of the oldest cities left but I guess that didn't matter now to the people of our city if they left it like this . It looks like it was hit by a tornadoleavingbits and peices in its tracks. It's abandoned that's what really angers and upsets me the most. I really want to know why they ran scared and left our city. our home . Its Just why would this even happen ? Still I'm walking along the street thinking about what's going to happen next . This smell is just so bad it smells like a rotten eggs and rotting wood . It's disgusting. As I'm walking i stick my head up there is a skyscraper I haven't seen for five years it looks like it's worn there's broken windows ,but that's how I ended up getting in ,the sign said "20 floors " I might as well get this over with.
The stairs were in a square spiral. The walls of the staircase were peeling. At the last set of stairs before the roof door (where I used to hang out with my best friend) I heard a noise. Of course I went to go investigate. I open the door and saw a shadow. I decided I should turn the corner to see what was there. All I saw was a grey trashcan and a green house. As I was walking to the greenhouse I see a boy that looked familiar and about the same age as I am. I glance over at him to see his beautiful green eyes with specks of gray in them. As well I notice his curly short brown hair and little freckles on his face. He looks as if hes 6 foot tall give or take an inch. He's wearing a hoodie and Jean shorts . The only name that comes to mind is my best friends name ,"Tommy."
I say ,"Is that you Tommy."
he calls back ,"yes it is! Is that you Scarlet ? You don't look like the old you well besides those blue eyes of yours."
"You've gotten taller . I swear all I've changed was my hair color and how short it is ." I say to him.
"why did you change your hair color from red to brown ?" He asks ." I miss those red curls . "
I ran up to him and gave him a hug.
" Well I missed you ." I whispered in into his ear .
"Why were you gone for almost five years ? where did you go ?" His voice is shaky when he asks," I thought that when you left you would be back the next day , but you weren't then it turned into weeks , then months , and then years . " he sounded sad and upset at the end of his sentence. I couldn't tell him why I had left because it was the rebellions fault and it was a secret. They told me if I told any one about what was going on with the terrorist attacks they would put me in prison or worse they would kill me, but if he found out about it himself it wouldn't be my fault . He probably already knew because it's his brother Jace causing them . Jace is two years older than tommy and I .
I answer Tommy back , "I can't tell you why ,but your brother is behind it all ."
Tommy comments back,"how is he behind it all and how can I trust you if you won't tell me why you were gone . " I felt the tears starting to roll down my cheeks then it started raining not hard but just enough for my tears to mix with it . those words stung badly ,but I still answer back , " your just going to have to try to believe and trust me."
I don't know how but my voice was still sounding calm even though I was crying ,but I did it and felt relieved when he answered back ,"I'll try to trust you, but will you tell me why my brothers involved ."
I can't tell him but I can show him .I answered back,"look around that's how hes Involved.Will you please tell me where everyone went? "
he answered,oh they left after the terrorist attack but some people are still here. As you can see. Are you trying to tell me that my brother is behind the terrorist attacks." He finished his sentence looking a little confused.
I answer back ,"yes that's what I've been trying to hint to you ."
"Why didn't you actually tell me?"he asked.
I answered back,"I can't tell you because ."
"Because why?"he asked.
I answer back,"because its top-secret." I paused ,"and now I can't take it you don't know and I can't tell you."
I was so annoyed with the people I had worked for and frustrated because I can't just tell him. A voice sounding like a guy came out of nowhere,"well.well .well. Who do we have here it's little scarlet Rose and my little brother Thomas."
I look at Tommy his face in wide shock his mouth hanging open and his eyes wide in shock . I turn around and see Jace right behind me.
His blue eyes pierced with wonder and a smirk on his face his short black hair shaved made it hard to recognize him.
It was his blue eyes I recognized. Jace said ,"I thought I killed you and Scaro's with the rest of your crew."
I whisper back , " I am the only one one that survived. why do you want to kill me? I never hurt you or anyone else in your family . "
Jace answered my question ,"well it's not just you I want to kill its everyone still alive in the rebellion against my rule over this region I already have scaro's that's one of the biggest contents on earth now I have the city of shells I just have two more continents to go and two more cities to go." I know what you're thinking shells is a stupid city name but it's where most of the sea shells are. it's still my home, but back to what's going on .I screamed at him
," I won't let that happen .we have every single city and continent covered. I suggest you watch your back Jace ." towards the end I got quieter until I was talking normally. then out of the corner of my eye I see Tommy.
then Tommy suggests to Jace and I ," so what I'm guessing is that you and Jace have been at each others throats and neither one of you decided to tell me ." then he says ," so you both have been living in scaro's ."
I answered him "yes and no ."
Then Jace says ," why didn't you tell him." he says it like im the one that was supposed to tell Tommy. It wasn't supposed to be his brother and his best friend trying to kill each other hoe the hell do you tell someone about that.
Then I looked down I see him reach for something. that's when I see the gun. it's a hand gun and it looks like a pistol. he has a gun and I have a knife it fits perfectly in my pocket. I decided to reach for it , but Tommy had already started to corner him with questions like, " why did you have to destroy are home?"
Then he backs him up all the way to the edge of the roof . Jace answered his first question ,"I had to rule the earth . " Tommy put his hands out to push him then he said ,"i wish I didn't have to do this , but if u don't put the gun down I will." jace made a smart Alec remark back , " I don't have to put it down you're not actually going to do it . " and then it happened Tommy pushed him , I guess that's what happens when you finally hit a breaking point.
I was close enough to see jace fall . He hit the ground and laid there for a second and then he got up and started to run. I yelled," you are such a coward you run away from your problems like when we were kids! "
He didn't stop or answer back to me he just kept running .then I darted down the steps after him .I ran for 2 blocks I could see jace about ten feet away. I yelled ,"stop !" He just keeps going.

I see Thomas run out from behind a building and grab Jace. I see Jace trying to unravel out of Tommy's arms . Some how while Jace was trying to get lose Tommy got into his arms and has a gun stuck up to his head. Jace is about to pull the trigger. I yelled ,"please stop Jace! You don't know what you're doing!"
I reach into my pocket to grab my dagger. then Jace screamed , I know what I'm doing and your going to be dead soon too!" The last part he spoke wickedly. then I walked towards him and stopped inches away from him. If he pointed his gun at me and went to shoot I could stab him.
I spoke with steady quiet words,"it's me you want not him. he's your brother and if you were to kill him you wouldn't be able to forgive yourself."he spoke loud but in a whisper tone ,"maybe. just maybe i will spare my brothers life for just yours."as I started to speak tears were going to my face blending with the rain again, "okay. I'll go with you so Tommy doesn't die."
Then Tommy started to speak with such sincerity,"don't do this scarlet . I know you . you wouldn't do this to your self ."
Then I whisper into his ear so only he could here ,"meet me at the rooftop in an hour if I don't get their in exactly an hour wait ten more minuets then come look for me ."
Jace let go of Tommy and then I screamed ,"run. go get out of here go." I was still standing by jace when Tommy disappeared from behind a building .
I'm starting to think this is the last time I'll see Tommy .
Jace grabbed my arm and started dragging me down the street . then after two blocks we stop at a little White House . then he dragged me inside .
I should have realized it was where they lived. I finally spoke," why did you bring me to your old house ?"
He answered back coldly ,"this is where Tommy lives now. when he gets here and sees that you're dead . he will never be able to walk into this house."
Then I ran out the door across the street and down the block . As he chases after me . I finally stopped and he grabs my arm .
He started dragging me down the street then asked ,"why did you run ? Were you scared ?"
I counter back with an answer ," I only ran because I didn't want to kill you at your brothers'." he asked all innocently ,"why?"
I finally have enough strength to stop us from moving . I started to scream right in his ear ," you know why."
As I reached in my pocket for my pocket knife .
"Well it doesn't matter now any way because you're going to die soon he says calmly and at the same time his blue eyes lit up with excitement ."Not if I kill u first ." I said as I'm keeping him still .
I finally get my pocket knife open and held up to his neck . I finally ask the question that's been bugging me ," why is it that u want me dead more than any one else on earth?"
" The reason is that you have a better relation ship with my brother than I have,and that I have always hated your guts ."
I slit his throat and I found a shovel so I do the only thing I know to do. I started digging a hole as he's bleeding out . as the scarlet blood came out of his neck he spoke with his last breath , " Tell Tommy I'll always love him."
His blue eyes were open and he died. all I can see is a vibrant red no actually it's more of a scarlet. As I drag him to his grave I say," I promise I'll tell Tommy ."
I have blood on my sweat shirt and on my blue dress . still the blood is not just red to me it's scarlet. as I'm touching his eyelids to close them they are cold .
Almost like I used to think his heart was .
I'm trying to push him into his grave . then he falls I any way . when I turn him over he looks so peaceful . this last shovel of dirt I have I used to cover his face .
Then I see rose bushes but the roses aren't red they are scarlet . I walk slowly to the bushes then I pick enough to spell out Jace Anderson. as I walk away the smell of scarlet rose petals and blood hits me .
I'm starting to walk to the building where Tommy and I are meeting .then I start to walk fast and now I'm jogging to the door . I'm starting to run up the stairs to the roof door . I open the door and Tommy starts running to me and hugs me.
he says " I'm in love with you scarlet rose . i finally say ," I'm in love with you too Thomas Anderson ." It feels like we've been hugging each other forever . like we are never going to let go .
I whisper into Tommy's ears ," Jace said he loves u too and always will." I started to think of how peaceful he looked before I buried him .
I started to cry tears coming down my face . as they hit Tommy's shoulderhe asks "what's wrong ? " I say ," nothing I was just thinking about what happened between me and Jace before and after he died." I still see Jace looking at me with those blue eyes .when I close my eyes .
