" Alley, darling, why don't you get some fresh air? You've been watching TV for hours this past spring break. Go outside for once!" my mother says to me sternly.
" I was going to do that anyways." I say back, annoyed at her tone. I didn't even consider going ouside. Oh well. Might as well do what she says.
"Here, I found this book in the cabinet. I think you might like it." my mom exclaims. I glare at the cover for a few seconds. I then feel my eyes soften when I see the young girl with a prettty blue dress.
She looks just like me.
"Alice and Wonderland"
What a strange title. What could Wonderland be? It is a simple picture book but I am very interested.
I take the smooth book in my hands and smile. My mom knows what I like. In times where money in scarce, a present is greatly valued.
I hold my new book and skip to my room to put on clothes instead of pajamas.
