"Let's put that dagger away first" The masked stranger steadily attempted to approach the dagger again, its glint catching a faint light in the library.

He knew her blade had caused a cut already, the red trickling down his neck added to his annoyance.

But hope, though dwindling, refused to fade.

"You ask your companions to show themselves first'' words strong and stiff hit the man as he understood there was no convincing her to back off.

He rolled his eyes, feeling the weapon's readiness on his neck.

A subtle shuffle broke the tension; behind the two, another figure emerged in the quietness of the library.

His green hair caught Hope's eye first, followed by the keen green eyes and a stiff walk.

The guy, with an awkward shrug and a voice that mirrored his uneasy gait, mumbled, "Well," His eyes roamed around the room," sorry for throwing the chair at you earlier.."

Hope raised an unimpressed brow before redirecting her attention to the stranger in her hold.

"And? The other two?" she demanded.

"Ugh fine" words laced with annoyance echoed in the library as another figure, notably taller, clumsily made her way to the scene, knocking a few books in the process.

"Amber, quit hiding!" she bellowed.

"I swear by the gods i didn't even breathe, how did she know??" hope sensed disbelief and fear in the voice of the girl who crawled out from beneath a table and rushed her way to her companions.

"And why are the tables so dirty?" the girl, Amber, turned her head towards hope, inspecting her.

" It was so hard to keep my scream in when a spider stood right in front of my face and I almost hit my.." she paused, realizing her intrusion. "Uh, sorry"

"It's okay," Hope replied, her stern expression softening.

"You did good for someone who just emerged from beneath a table" Amber's eyes widened in gratitude, and a nervous chuckle escaped her lips.

"Well, it was an unexpected spider encounter. And these tables... I think they haven't seen a cleaning spell in ages"

Hope smiled or perhaps it was a smirk? Amber didn't care. She was happy to be excused.

"I'm Amber," she declared, executing a quick bow.

Her eyes then moved to the green-haired boy beside her. "And this is Green. Yes, that really is his real name. And that," she pointed at the girl, "that's Summer"

The two, Green and Summer, stood there, blinking in surprise and mild fury. They couldn't fathom why they were being introduced in such a precarious situation, and their eyes shot daggers at Amber for revealing their names.

"Very well" a smirk- more clear this time- painted hope's face.

"Any idea who this is?" Hope, now more intrigued than apprehensive, gestured towards the masked stranger with a tilt of her head.

Amber, now suddenly brushing imaginary dust from her clothes, looked up and studied the stranger for a moment before shaking her head.

"No clue" she shook her head before returning to cleaning her clothes.

"But you handled the situation pretty well, considering" She added before passing a smile, hoping to receive one in return but a chuckle was all she got.

Hope released the masked man but continued to hold the blade firmly.

A smirk played on her lips as she casually remarked, "Looks like they abandoned you," the subtle mockery was laced with a dangerous charm.

"Really, Amber? I was expecting to be introduced as well," the masked man quipped, his voice carrying a mixture of defiance and a tinge of intrigue beneath the mask concealing his features.

Amber, with a tilt of her head,, responded, "Oh?"

"Perhaps he just" summer suggested.

"Got lost?" green added.

"Took a wrong turn..." amber continued, her attempt at levity met with a stern gaze from Hope, who wasn't in the mood for banter.

"Look, i'm in no mood for jokes, If you have a reason for barging in here like this, you better start talking."

Her gaze, intense and unyielding, swept over the masked man's freshly wounded neck, a stark reminder that the situation wasn't entirely defused.

"You have fifteen minutes before the guards come around, nobody would be able to save you then" she declared, her voice tinged with a hint of urgency that fueled the intensity of the moment.

"Are you saying you would actually let us go if we choose honesty?" The masked man, revealing a hint of mockery beneath the mask, dared to challenge Hope's expectations.

"What? Is the wounding healing too quickly? Do you-" hope was cut short by Green's panicked outburst.

"Wait , did you just say fifteen minutes??" green yelled with wide eyes and turned towards summer, chanting incoherent words and clutching onto her arms in urgency.

Hope, with furrowed brows, made an attempt to walk towards green.

The audacity of their actions irked her. But just as she took a step, a movement from behind halted her.

"You know, I'm really good at tackling people with daggers," a whispered threat teased the contours of Hope's ear, sending a shiver down her spine.

A firm hand covered her mouth, and another restrained her hands, preventing any countermove.

Hope's mind raced, knowing she had little time to act. She had to do something- quick.

Turning around with a sudden burst of energy, Hope attempted to push the masked man away.

Her movements were swift and assertive, fueled by a surge of determination. The blade in her hand, though unseen in the darkness, found it's mark.

But the attack wasn't enough to defeat the man and Her struggles were met with resistance.

In an unexpected turn, the man's mask fell to the ground, revealing a face momentarily illuminated by the library's faint light.

However, before Hope could discern the features, a cloth abruptly deprived her of sight.

Coldness, one similar to the weapon in her hand, wrapped itself around her, numbing all her senses.

The shrill echo of the fallen dagger echoed through the silent library, but the screams that left Hope's mouth were stifled by the hand of the intruder, cloaked in lies.
