(Third p.o.v)

Year: 1989

In a middle school auditorium there was a spelling bee being held. On the stage a small child was one of five students left, and he was standing front and centre as his two friends cheered him on....Sorta.
"30 seconds, Mr. Guster." The moderator told making him panic a bit more.
"A... G... G..." Gus began and we see his male friend that was in the audience was coaching him through the word as the girl next to smiled towards him.
"You know he is going to kill once he finds out your plan." She quietly told as he continued to coach him.
"No he won't, Bunny."
"I can't believe you over heard that. Just don't go spreading it."
"I won't." Shawn told her before Gus spoke again
"Let me start over. "Aggiornamento". A... G... G..." he told as he looked back over at Shawn. "O?"
As soon as he said that the moderator buzzed Gus out, making him raise his hands in disgust before walking off of the stage.
"He'll be fine." Shawn told her.
"I just know one thing."
"What's that?"
"If I ever was to become famous, you ain't ever invited to any events I do."
"Really? Not one?"
"None of 'em."
"We'll see."
"That we will."

~(Present day)~

(Ash p.o.v)

"Ashley!" Marcus exclaimed as I made my way to my bike.
"I wanna say hi to my mates while I'm here for three months workin' on shit like this. I haven't seen 'em in ages." I told as I turned to look at him rushing towards me.
"We have that guest appearance for that Spelling Bee. Apparently it's really well liked here."
"Come on!" I exclaimed causing some looks.
"I know you want to say hi to your friends. I get that, but we are too busy for it to be today."
"Fine. But I'm takin' my bike, I will not let you sway me on that."
"Fine, fine. As long as you head to this location." He told showing me the address.
"Yeah I know the place. Think one of my buddies did a spelling bee when we were younger there. I'll meet you there." I told before getting on and speed away.
'What a joy to be me.'

I waited next to a tree deciding to play on the game boy I brought with me as Marcus began to walk towards me.
"Ashley. How long were you waiting for?"
"Enough time, that I'm now at the 4th world in Mario." I told masking my accent.
"Well save the game and let's get this on the road. We need to talk to one of the people in charge with this."
"Shouldn't I have my vail?"
"Your really going for that?"
"I know I haven't really used it a lot but I would like to get into the habit of using it. I'm a PI who was just in a movie cause of my siblings and I'm now doing photo shoots here cause I had an emergency case two towns over."
"I promise after this we will use it more."
"Fine. Let's just get this shit on the road."
"Language. There are children."
"You know I quickly stop myself when that happens."
We walked in and I put on a smile as I met the lady. As we talked I noticed a bunch of police officers were on location making me think.
'What in the world?'
"What's with all the Po-po?" I asked
"Oh a child had an asthma attack. So they are just making sure there was no foul play." She told
"Sounds bad."
"It is. This is a serious contest in this town."
"Oh I know all about that. I actually grew up here for three years before I had to move."
"Oh how lovely. Let me show you where you will be apart of the hosting and the backstage where you can relax if it's not in use." She told before leading us the way.
"How fun. Spelling bees!"
"Ashley be nice."
"I am being nice. I think spelling bees are a real buzz."
"Just settle."
"Oh that was funny and you know it."
"Just come on."
As we were walking I heard some familiar voices making me look to see who it was, only to get pulled by Marcus so he didn't lose me.
'I am definitely finding an out from this.'
I was shown around and were meeting with the commentators for the contest, when they extended their hands for me to shake.
"Oh I hope I don't seem rude. But I'm not great with physical contact with people I don't know that well or at all. Sorry about that."
"Don't be. Completely understandable. Shall we get started on getting you ready to know what happens here." One of them told.
"Of course."
After awhile of me catching up to date with the rules and what happens for everything, when they made an announcement.
"We're going to keep rolling because of the exceptional request by Elvin Cavanaugh, behind-the-scenes guy, to give a press conference right here at this stage of the competition. What's that all about?" Collin questioned making me see Marcus was walking through one of the empty aisles.
'I've got a bad gut feeling about this.'
I got up and moved to the other side of the desk to rethink all this.
"Well, I mean, this could be something big, Bud. I mean, this year's competition has just been peppered with controversy." The other one told
"It certainly has. Well, he's been watching from a private box on the balcony, but now he's going to come out so that we can see him."
I looked up at Cavanaugh to see he lets out a grunt and puts a hand on the railing. I quickly looked to see where he would land if he was to fall making me rush towards Marcus. I began to use the chairs to help me get momentum as they kept talking about how bad he was looking.
'Why did this have to be so far from where he was?!'
"Marcus!" I exclaimed making him look towards me.
"What?"
"Brace for impact!"
He quickly got the clue just before I tackled him and at that moment Cavanaugh falls over the rails and plummets to the floor. There were screams and exclamations from what happened and people rushed over but I didn't focus on that.
"You ok?"
"Your so strong."
"Sorry. I just couldn't see you getting hurt."
"Thanks. Mind helping me up?"
"Oh yeah." I told before getting up and helping him up.
We both looked at the scene in front of us and I knew this was going to not end well.
"Fuck a duck."

After a few minutes from the police coming to investigate my name was called out. I turned around to see Shawn and Gus with confused surprised looks making me give a wave.
"Hiya."
"Hiya?" Shawn questioned.
"Yeah."
"Just 'Hiya.' Really Bunny?" He asked as he did an impression of me.
"I'm sorry I'm not more like 'Oh my god! Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster! What a pleasant surprise I didn't expect you guys to be here!' Is that what you wanted?"
"I mean it wouldn't have hurt."
"I'm sorry but do you not see the dead body that right over there?"
"She's got a point Shawn." He told before coming to give me a hug. "It so good to see you again Ash."
"Good to see you as well." I told before he pulled away.
"Move aside Gus. My turn for a hug." He told giving Gus a small push before pulling me into a tight hug.
"Are these the friends you've been admit about seeing?" Marcus asked.
"Yeah."
"Oh hey I remember you. Shawn right?"
"Yep. Marcus or Denis? I can't figure out which is which." Shawn told.
"Marcus. Denis is more fast talking."
"Now I remember."
"You know Marcus and Denis?" Gus asked
"Yeah. She wrote a song about me."
"I've written songs about everyone. Man we are weirdos." I told before moving my face slightly "Shawn."
"Yeah?"
"Your still hugging me."
"I know."
"Like I said. Weirdos."
