xingyun | school life

confusion resolved?

after walking in silence for about 5 more minutes, they arrived at school. it was 7:56 so they had to hurry to their classes. everyone was already in their first period, so no one came to interrupt xingqiu as he walked into the school. he finally let go and waved goodbye at chongyun while he fast-walked to his classroom. yun stood still in the hall for about 3 minutes, super confused about the situation he was just in. the late bell rang, bringing yun back to earth.
            as he walked to his classroom, someone pulled him into a corner. "xiangling?" yun asked in a confused tone. xiangling giggled. (what is up with this family and pulling people everywhere??) "hey yun!!" she said as she took out a small jean blue lunchbox, "qiu forgot his lunch at home, do you mind giving it to him when you guys meetup at the cafeteria?" chongyun stood there for a couple seconds. "oh um yea! is there a reason that you can't do it tho..?" xiangling let out a laughing sigh. "not really, but you like spending time with him right? anyways i gotta go! my teacher thinks im at the bathroom" she giggled as she started walking off. chongyun was left a bright shade of pink standing in front of the stairs.
           did she mean that in a platonic or romantic way? how did chongyun even feel about xingqiu? he never tried thinking of him as something other than his bestfriend. was it wrong for him to think of qiu as something else? would it offend him if i mistook his gestures as something more than "bros being bros" ?
            chongyun must've stood there for a really long time, he heard the bell ring to signal for students to move to their 2nd period. the stairs flooded with people. among the crowd, he finally spotted his friends, yanfei and bennett. Razor had a different 2nd period so he had already left.
            class was as boring as ever. chongyun managed to stay awake for 2 of his 3 classes, even though he went to sleep early yesterday. but on his 3rd class he was pretty productive and did his work, except for the occasional jokes yanfei would pull. anyways, the 4th bell of the day rung, it was finally time for lunch. everyone headed to the cafeteria.
           as chongyun was in line, he saw xingqiu and barbara eating together. since qiu forgot his lunch, barbara was letting him eat some of hers. chongyun stared at them for a while before the person behind him pushed him lightly since he was next to order. he felt.. irritated.

(xingqiu pov)
          qiu sat with barbara since she said she'd share her lunch with him. she had some rainbow colored macarons for lunch, and they were really good. as he was about to thank her, someone slammed a lunchbox infront of him. qiu looked up to meet eyes with chongyun. "oh hey yun, you startled me! do you need something..?" chongyun averted his eyes.

(chongyun pov)
           what was he thinking?? why would he just slam the lunchbox in front of him. gosh, now he needs to explain. "oops.. didn't mean to slam it??" yun managed to say, sounding confused. "um..right! your sister gave me you're lunch since you forgot it at home.." yun said and made a little smile. "oh thanks! i was really hungry" qiu giggled. barbara interrupted, "hey chongyun! do you wanna try some of these macarons? i made wayyyy too many" she laughed. "oh sure!" yun said excitedly. "here yun, you can have this blue one! its way too cold for me but i think you'd like it" qiu giggled. they were right, these macarons are really good. "well! i need to go sit down for lunch so ill catch you guys later! and barbara, if u make way too many sweets again, you can always invite me!" chongyun laughed as he walked away.
(lunch had ended, they were now in the changing room for P.E)
"ugh" xingqiu grunted, "changing clothes for P.E is so annoyingg" chongyun finished putting the white shirt on, "i guess," he paused to go tie his sneakers, "but this way we don't get our other clothes sweaty." he felt someone patt his back. "hey   yun! hey xingqiu!" aether said, behind him were benett and razor playing rock paper scissors. "oh hey aether!" they both replied.  bennett suggested they should leave the changing room soon. so thats exactly what happened.
               as they walked out, yanfei parted from amber and noelle to talk with chongyun. as yun was talking about some random topic with xingqiu, yanfei interrupted. "wait who?" she asked, holding back her laughter. "who what?" yun said confused. "who asked?" yanfei managed to say before breaking down and laughing. she started running because right behind her was chongyun, chasing her.
              xingqiu was kind of jealous of yanfei's and yun's friendship. qiu is actually very insecure about if people actually enjoy talking with him. he often asks himself if hes even funny to talk to, so he wishes he could say things like yanfei. as he snapped out of his thoughts, they had arrived at the field.
              apparently, today they were doing 2 vs. 2 soccer games. they could choose partners so of course, yun and xingqiu partnered up. after some rock paper scissors games deciding who went vs who, they had their opponents. it was yanfei and xinyan.
