Rias Pov

Seeing inumaki's eyes open up after 3 days of him being unconscious was a relief. God, I was planning on turning him as my chess piece soon if he didn't wake up.

Well, I wanted him to be in my peerage but I can't do that to him without his permission first, cause he might hate me for it.

"How are you feeling Inumaki-senpai?" My Bishop Asia asked the boy, with us, Asia and Kiba waiting for his answer.

"Su- agk-" his words stopped with him puking up blood. My instant instinct was to grab the nearby cloth on the table side bed.

"Kiba bring some water and Asia grab some coughing syrup from the shelves," I order them.

Kiba rushes out of the room to grab some water and along with Asia with him. I stare back at Inumaki still having the cloth on his mouth, trying to maintain the coughing boy.

He stops coughing after 5 seconds, thinking it was safe enough to remove the cloth.

"Don't try to speak yet, you have damaged your throat really bad at the last battle and I am truly sorry we couldn't protect you, even though it was our responsibility to protect all humans." I apologise with my tone full of guilt and disappointment in myself. I lower my head down to avoid making eye contact with him. It was our fight, we devil can heal in no time, but instead. It was the poor boy who has protected us all and all most gave up his precious life for us.

Inumki waves his hand down to my view trying to get me to look at him. He lifted his hand and started to do different times of hand sign....sign language.

I don't know much of what he was trying to say or sign, I learned sign language before but it has been a dusty memory of mine now.

Third Pov

'I am still alive, you don't have to put more heavy guilt in your shoulder.' Inumaki manages to communicate with Rias with this and she felt rather relax but also worried.

"Even if you say that after what happen will never leave my shoulder, it almost like I murd-" Inumaki places his index finger on her lips stopping her from completing her sentence.

'If you think you are a murderer then I shouldn't be in this bed, I shouldn't be able to breathe, I shouldn't feel like anything, I should be dead and buried underground.'

'A murderer kills a person and runs from its crime, a good person helps and bring back their friends alive. You are not a murderer, you are a good devil.'

Rias felt rather fuzzy inside, feeling all the weight from her shoulder melt down like molten lava. Inumaki holds the red-haired hand for some comfort. Rias began to fidget with inumaki's hand until she realised what she was doing.

"President, me and Asia got the water and cough syrup." Kiba and Asia entered the room and them seeing the Onigiri boy and Princess of Gremory holding hands.

Rias became frustrated but didn't know if it's rude to let go of inumaki's hand because of the sudden interaction. inumaki took the hint of Rias face and move away his hand gently from her.

"Ohh~ I see, the president caught feeling for Inumaki-senpai." Kiba teased his president and friend. Inumaki stayed quiet because really couldn't deny it or answer anyway, but Rias...

"N-no, it's not what you think. B-beside, I'm just massaging inumaki's hand to release some muscle stress, that's all." Rias exclaimed denying and also admitting the fact he was holding inumaki's hand.

Kiba gave the water to inumaki so he can finally wash down the metallic taste in his throat. Asia gave him the cough syrup Rias told her to get, inumaki stared at it for a while before chugging it all down, for a normal person, they would take a small sip or even measure it out, but for inumaki, he was forced to drink all three bottles a day when he was a kid so grew up drinking nothing but cough syrup now and then.

"By the way president, vice president, Issei and Koneko are back from the client as well as Xenovia," Kiba informed his master about the member safely coming back from the client request.

"Knock knock." It was Akeno and the other club members following her from behind.

"Oh, hm hmm, I see inumaki's awake."

"Inumaki-senpai."

"Hey, there rice- I mean inumaki..."

"You finally woke up."

They all greeted the white-haired boy and ask if he is ok and how are his throat and body doing. Koneko gave inumaki some onigiri she bought at the convenience store before they returned which inumaki gesture a "thank you"

"Great job for your hard work today and our friend inumaki had finally recovered so let's all celebrate this with a pool party," Rias announced to all her members seeing how excited they are with all of them cheering.

"Yay!"

"Hehe...tuna..."
