The chatting and quiet movement of the understaffed headquarters was nothing new to the seasoned workers that called it home. Those who were of note such as Signas who still hadn't been given the chance to leave his post in the past six hours due to the amount of paperwork needed from him. Doing things by the book still took time even if he was able to do so electronically. The human officials that expected them to be at their beck and call demanded as much.

Aila was near him, quietly chatting to Layer. Taking up training for those who had joined and became modified for the new role of navigation. Organizing them via their levels of accuracy and how concise they could get information across. Layer was currently making sure that their specialties were organized and those who would be assigned to routing multitudes of hunters and answering reports.

The soft tapping of an old pencil against the metal desk was a sure sign of X being on duty, organizing his rampant thoughts as he did his best to focus on what was in front of him. Virus infection had hit a small lull but would no doubt spike if the human analyst on staff was to be trusted. When he had first joined, it made sensors buzz at the mere thought of harming another reploid. The warning was still there though the blue android wondered if one day it would die out completely.

He placed the pencil down, taking note of the time via a internal clock and stood up. It was about time to make sure Zero didn't overload the training sim by completing rerun after rerun.

The soft thumping of him leaving the desk echoed threw the base as he looked at a small tablet with files that needed to be sorted doing his best to keep close to the wall. Every once and a while waving to the few hunters that remained. X was the commander of his own unit for a good amount of time, he had become someone many seemed to want to look up to. He could only hope it was more so the peace he wanted then the armors and weapons he unfortunately gained.

The blonde reploid had stopped him in his tracks and his thoughts as their eyes met.

"Layer wants to see you." X stated in a calm though friendly tone.

"She was sorting through some of the new recruits with me for units. You really should take a look at them if you have the time."

"I will once I'm done filing reports. Promise."

"Picking up Axl's slack again?" The small grin appearing on the red android's face showed a small bit of sympathy. "He's really grown on you, remember when we first met him?"

A sigh left X's voice generation bank, a soft bit of scratching as it had been wearing away due to the constant use on the new gen-reploid. "I was frustrated at the situation, He's been rushing his recovery. Speaking of, was it really smart to let him go without one of us?"

"Palette was working with him, she made sure it was a low level mission. Apparently a reploid smashed a car and then ran off. A simple turn in and return to normal." Zero had gotten used to keeping X from losing himself in his thoughts. A gentle hand was placed on his shoulder and the smile had gone a tad bit bigger before disappearing

"I don't know, I've got a bad feeling."

X was known for over worrying around the base after all. Not to the point of micromanaging but left to his own devices he would second guess practically everything he's done to this point and everything in the future.

"If you're that worried we can go check up on him?"

X's mouth opened only to quickly close as the sound of sirens echoed threw the halls. All attention was drawn up to the ceiling, wondering what could have possibly been happening? Another large scale maverick attack? A major outbreak?
