Vanessa ran away back to her home, tears streaming down her face as she ran; the clouds were starting to cry cold tears as well and they started to rumble with fear and anger.
When Vanessa got into her home she slammed the door behind her and started screaming with rage. She went over to her new TV and pushed it over, she got a flash back of when her dad was watching the football and dancing around the room as his team had just scored another goal.
Vanessa went over to her dining room table and remembered her whole family coming over for Christmas dinner and Ethan knocking on the door and asking for some tin foil as they had none for their Christmas dinner her memory was disturbed by a high pitched scream; it didn't sound like a child playing outside it sounded like her best friend Katie.
Then she heard Ethan's voice in the distance. She walked to the door and slowly opened the door and cautiously stepped outside. The clouds were dark grey and the willow tree outside her house was swaying vigorously in the wind, Vanessa closed her eyes and pictured herself lying in her bed when she was little and looking at the willow tree through her bedroom window, she used to say that her dad was her first hero and the willow tree has her second because it was always there and never left like her mum did when she was four years old, she used call the willow tree her protector, someone who she could trust, but now that her dad has gone the willow tree was her true hero now.
As the image faded away she heard a loud crack it made Vanessa's eyes shot open, she saw Ethan running towards her."Vanessa move out the way, go Vanessa, run!" Ethan didn't stop running.
However hard Vanessa tried to move her feet she couldn't it was like her feet was glued to the floor, her body did not want to leave her home.
She closed her eyes and pictured the tree in her mind and instantly she felt safe, the picture was interrupted by a hard push on Vanessa's shoulder she fell into some nearby gravel when she heard a loud crack, the floor started to shake and a deathening humming noise flood the area around her.
Everything looked smudged in Vanessa's eyes like someone had tried to wipe a whiteboard when it had permanent marker on it, she saw an outline of a huge object on a house but Vanessa couldn't work out whos it was.
When her eyes got back to normal she realized it was her home and the huge object was her protector. Now not only has her dad died now her willow tree has gone to, vanessa felt extremely lonely.
