Katie POV

One single raindrop falls on my arm.

Yes!

I love rain! The stormy smell, the clouded sky. It's perfect.

I get to my knees, not caring that my new overalls are getting muddy. I pull a weed out of the ground and throw it into my basket full of weeds. I turn around just in time to watch someone pour the weeds on my head.

Ugh. Travis Stoll. Let me explain. I am Katie Gardner, 16 year old demigod, daughter of Demeter. Travis Stoll is my mortal (or should I say half mortal) enemy. He's a notorious prankster and loves to make me his target.

"What do you want, Stoll?" I say, my voice dripping with annoyance.

"Woah Katie-Kat, no need to get upset. I'm bored, and you look lonely." he replies, sitting in the mud with me.

"I'm not." I snap, "Why don't you go find Connor?"

Connor Stoll. One year younger than Travis, but just as annoying. And yes, they are blood related.

"He's with Miranda." Travis states.

Miranda Gardner. My blood sister and Daughter of Demeter. I love her to death, but her choice in men, not the best. She's dating Connor, and as annoying as he is, I'll admit when two people are meant to be. They're cute together.

It's starting to drizzle, and I lean back on my hands, facing Travis.

"Aren't you afraid of getting wet?" I ask.

"Now Katie-Kat, that's a little inappropriate, don't you think?" he says with a smirk, his gorgeous blue eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Gross Travis, you know what I meant." I say trying to contain my smile.

Travis studies my face for a moment before turning to look at the approaching storm. "No, I love the rain. I don't mind getting wet, I like the way it smells and feels on my skin." His dreamy eyes change from mischief, into wonder when he talks about it.

Gods he's cute.

Okay, so maybe I have a little crush on him. But he doesn't like me, he's always pranking me, and he dates so many girls, if he wanted me, he would've made a move by now.

I've known Travis since I was 10, he helped Miranda and I into camp. We used to be really close friends, but we grew apart over time. Now we're just, somewhat friends.

"That's really deep," I tell him.

"I know. I can be smart when I want to." he says cockily. "When you want to. That must not be very often." I tease. "Hey!" he says, shoving my arm gently. I just laugh and shove him back.

Travis and I talk for about two hours, in the pouring rain. I didn't realize how much I missed him. The conch sounds and we both make our way to the dining pavilion to eat dinner.

"Oh my gods, Katie! You're soaking wet! Where were you?" Miranda questions.

"Um, nowhere." I reply with grin, thinking about Travis. "Nowhere"
