Orion is without a doubt my favorite. I got a new phone recently. I can take great exposures. Here is a picture of orion. It is missing the Star Betelgeuse.
Right in the middle of this image, is three stars in a row. This is the famous Orion's belt. Orion is a fantastic constellation. This is my opinion though. This exposure was a little shaky, so I could take better images. Since my phone can take even better images than I've ever been able to take, I'm going to try and get pictures of constellations for everyone here. At least the ones I can photograph very well. But Orion is very bright back there. Maybe I'll even get a better picture. As soon as I get that better picture, the one here that is missing that star Betelgeuse will be replaced. It also is missing the star Meissa. That star at the top of the image, above the belt, that's Bellatrix. That name may be familiar if you're a Potterhead. Madam lestrange is named after that star! Just like Sirius Black is named after Sirius the dog star. Sirius Black's father is also named after the constellation here. Orion black is his father's name. Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky. Speaking of Sirius, of which I tried to get a picture of, but clouds prevailed and I failed (wait that just rhymed), it is also located in the neighboring constellation of Canis Major. But anywho, Orion is definitely constellation at this time of year worth taking a look at. He's located pretty high by about 7:30 p.m. local time this time of year. Try taking a look.
Edit: More pics of Orion in my astrophotographyOrion contains this
The Orion nebula is something we have not mentioned yet. The Orion nebula is in Orion's sword. It is a star forming region in the area of nebulas that is known as the Orion molecular cloud complex. Orion is an entire area of star forming nebulas. Nebulas form stars as I just said. Nebula's are the same thing as clouds on earth, well, almost, they're made of different gases. However, nebula has its roots from the Latin word for cloud, I don't know what that is, but it's nebulo or something like that.
