Monday Morning
I heard the beep of my alarm. I groan and turn off the alarm. i slugishly pull myself out of my comfy bed and to the bathroom for a hot shower. the hot water woke me up quite well. after i was done washing myself i got out and head to the mirror to brush my long H/C hair while i dry it. I head to my closet and pick out a nice outfit for my first day at my new job. Jimmy said today was more of like a tour of how everything works and to get to know the crew as well as the editing sofwear, so i chose something comfy (above) yet my style.
After i was done getting dressed i head to the kitchen to grab a Monster before i go out to my old beat up F/c (favorite color) 1998 toyota camry (my actual car,lol. its old but its my baby).I turn the key in the ignition and it rumbles to life.
After a good 30 minutes of driving and singing car kareoke, i arrive at a large warehouse that i assume they use for filming Jimmy's videos. I text Jimmy that I'm here and step out of the car. Jimmy walks out the door to the warehouse and walks over to me.
"Mornin' Slim Jim" i greet the gental giant that is before me.
"Good morning, Y/n. And Slim Jim?" he responds with a chuckle.
"yep, kinda just rolls off the tounge don't ya think?" i laugh, Jimmy just smiles is gestures for me to follow. we walk through the front door and i am immedatly greeted by several pairs of eyes on me and Jimmy. Jimmy introduces me to the whole crew (Chandler, Chris, karl and Jake are the main ones in this story) and then leads me to the editing room. Jimmy introdused me to Bailey and Ethan then left me to learn the program.
It was about 12 when I heard a knock at the door to the editing room, Ethan had left a bit ago and Bailey was next to me working on a differnt video. Bailey invited who ever it was in. I was foucusing on the video that I was working so i didn't look away from the screen until i heard Jimmy speak. I turn around to give him my attention.
"Hey, Y/n, do you want to go out to eat with the guy's and I?" just as I was about to say yes my stomach grumbled making it known that i was indead hungry. I turn beet red.
Jimmy just laughs "I'm going to take that as a yes. We'll leave in ten, meet us at the front, okay?"
"Sure, let me just save this and I'll be there." i say with smile. Jimmy nods and leaves the room. Bailey turns to me with a smirk. "What are you smirking at, Sir?" i say jokingly. Bailey and I had become fast freinds through the first few hours that i have worked here.
"I don't know, Mabye the fact that you have a crush on the boss man?" i feel my face turn red again.
"How could I already have a crush on him i have known him for a grand total of three days, ya butthead?" i respond with an eye roll "plus as you said he is 'the boss man'"
"I can just tell."
After i saved the video i was working on and shut the computer down i went and met the guys up front as planned. I walked into a weird sight. Chandler was sitting on Chris's lap while Chris sat on Jake, who was squirmming underneath the two males, having been ambused while lounging on the couch. Jimmy was over leaning on the wall laughing at the scene before him. I pause before i enter all the way and jokingly start closing the door to the lounge part of the place.
"I'll let y'all finish up." I laugh before i enter the room agian. the guys all chuckle. Jake manages to get the leverage needed and ends up launching the to men off the couch and into the floor, with Chris on top and chandler on bottom. We all crack up at that. after we compose ourselves we all head to the lot. Karl had already left earlyier for a doctors appointment. we dicided to take two cars so that i didnt end up getting squished by anybody since I'm so much smaller then everyone else here. Chris, Chandler and Jake took Chandler's car and Jimmy and I took Jimmy's truck. I open the passanger door and somehow manage to get into the truck with no misshabs.
"remind me to bring a step stool next time i ride with you." i laugh. Jimmy laughed too
"I could have helped you if you needed it."
"I may be the size of a hobbit, but i will still kick ya butt." i say jokingly, JImmy laughed again, his laugh was like music. we pull out of the lot and head in to town to grab Sushi (if you don't like sushi change it i guess.) the drive was silent for the first couple of minutes, until Jimmy broke the silence.
"So, tell me, how did you get so good at editing? your resme said you didn't have any college experice."
"Oh, I've been interested in editing from a young age. When i was in highschool i would edit the graduation videos, the anouncments and all of the other videos that the school used to promote things. I was just a hobby to be honest until sophmore year when my best freind and boyfriend at the time james, started a youtube channel and needed an editor. i volunteered. " He nods
"if you don't mind me asking why aren't you still working for him?"
"I grew up in an abusive family. My dad was a drunk my mom was a junky. I was left to take care of my little brother B/n, and somthings happened between me and James that got him into juvinial. My jr year my brother committed suicide, my mom and dad blammed me and started to beat me, but when i finished highschool i didn't have the money to move out so i inlisted in the army."
"I'm sorry, i shouldn't have asked." there was genuine sorrow in Jimmy's blue eyes.
"No you're fine, it's in my past and it's made a stronger person, more resilent." i give jimmy a comforting smile. "what about you what are some of your hobbies?" i say trying to change the subject.
"mostly youtube, Gameing, ya know nerd stuff." Jimmy cracks a smile when i laugh.
After lunch
The guys and I had had a ball at lunch, I had easily been welcomed into the group more like family then a colleague. We had just arrived back at the warehouse when Jimmy pulled me aside.
"Hey im fixing to film a video, if you would like to join? It's just a reaction video for the reaction channel but it will be a chance for the audience to get to know you."
"Sure sounds fun, first office on the right correct?" Jimmy nods with a smile walks into the warehouse.
