Not Always the Chosen One

"Elena , wake up! You don't want to be late again like yesterday!" screamed my older brother Jason.

"It doesn't matter okay! it's not like it's going to be any better today! ugh. " I replied back.

"Well you need to wake up right now I have to give you a ride , if your late I'm late and I'm not letting that happen again. Hurry up already." he yelled.

"Fine . Just stop yelling at me. " I responded

I finally got up and shut the door before Jason screamed at me again. I looked into my closet and put on my outfit for that day which was shorts and my gray crop top. I curled my hair from the tips and put some makeup. After i was done i put on my shoes . I looked at the clock , Jason was right I was going to be late again , like always. I grabbed my chemistry book and snuck it in my backpack. I went downstairs to see my pancakes on the table , looks like I'll have to skip breakfast again. I went outside and Jason was already starting up the car. How I hate school , seeing my friends is the only reason I basically go.
" Really Elena ? Thanks for making me be late again. Did you eat the breakfast I served you? " Jason asked me.

" Sorry okay. & yeah I did .. " I responded back. I was lying again , actually I always found myself doing that , I have to get home before Jason does , hopefully he thinks I actually ate his pancakes.
The drive to school took about 5 minutes. My parents worked in the morning and didn't find it safe for me to walk to school. I really don't understand them. I'm 16 , not 9. We arrived at Oakwell Highschool. Same routine like always. I got out of the car and waved bye to Jason.
The bell has rung which meant that everyone needed to get to class and I was barely heading to my locker great. I put in my combination and stuck my stuff that I didn't need for first class. I grabbed my phone and earbuds and looked through it while heading to the bathroom.

"Elena! Gosh , late again?" said my best friend Janne.

"Ugh , yeah I'm going to class right now , I just stopped here. " I responded.

"Oh , well ima go back to class , see you in 4th hour ." she said

" Ok Janne , have you seen if Reyna & Kylie are here today?" I asked.

"Yeah I saw them walking in." she said

"Ok bye Janne." I answered

Kylie & Reyna were my other two bestfriends in high school I didn't have all my classes with them but I had 1st hour with Kylie and I had Reyna & Janne 7th hour. All of us were together in 9th hour and 4th hour which was great. Our squad gave me lifee.

After I washed my hands I went out to my first class with Kylie she was some crazy bitch honestly. I didn't want to get yelled at again by Mrs. Clarke for being late. As soon as I got in I was glad to see a substitute. She didn't give me a huge lecture gladly.

"Elena! Come over here!" Shouted Kylie.
I headed towards where Kylie was sitting including her two other friends Sam & Kate. I didn't really dislike her friends but Kate was just really a bother at times. I never said that to Kylie because I don't want to be seemed judgemental. I took a seat next to Kylie and started hearing all she kept telling me about her boyfriend Adam.
The two of them have been together for 2 months but it seems like years. I just hope she doesn't get broken. Like I have before. I just put on an interested face so Kylie doesn't feel like she's being boring. 1st hour class passes by and I get my stuff to go out to the hallway and somebody shoves me to the wall. I try to see who it is and with no doubt it was Kate. I swear she has something against me but I'm not sure what.
"What was that for Kate?" I asked

"Oh , I'm sorry accidents happen. " she smirked

How I hate her , she doesn't even know me enough to be disliking me. I hope Kylie knew about this and she could stop hanging out with Kate. She's not going to get away with this. After 2nd & 3rd period passed by I went to my 4th hour , lunch where I was with all of my bestfriends , Janne , Reyna & Kylie . They had talked about ' switching students' classes around ' but I haven't seen that happen yet. I hope they didnt change ours. But I hope they skwitch Kate's she's with us too in lunch which suckss. After I got in the cafeteria I searched for my best friends. I saw Reyna in the distance and I headed to her table to see everyone sitting there already.

"Hey girls!" i said

"Hey Elena" they answered.

"Elena , have you seen anyone switched around yet?" asked Reyna

"Actually no , I think they were lying about that. " I answered.

"I don't think so Elena. My friend Frances got switched from my 2nd hour but she's still with me in some classes. " said Janne.

" Oh maybe only some students switched. " I said

"Hey girls! look over there! they moved somebody else to this lunch period. It's a guy I believe." Shouted Kylie.

"Yeah they did I haven't seen him before.." I said

"I hope they don't switch me! Have you guys seen how Kate has been acting? She's been acting rude around me lately." said Kylie

"Yeah she has." Said Janne and Reyna.

"Elena!" shouted Kylie.

"Oh I'm sorry yeah , yeah she has." I said

"Why do you keep staring at that guy! Do you like him already or what?" Kylie asked me.

"What um no , no! " I said

That guy was very attractive. Very. I kept looking at every single move he was doing at his table. But I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. It was impossible. It was true, I liked him ad I didn't even knew what his name was yet! I suddenly saw him glance at me back. oh great I got caught. His face was stunning. I looked back at Kylie and saw that she was staring at me with laughter. She was right I did love him. I felt that somebody was staring at me I turned around expecting it to be the hot guy but it wasn't it was Kate. What was her problem? I looked back to my friends and started telling them that once again I liked somebody.

"Oh Elena! I knew you liked him but for lords sake stop staring at him he's attractive but don't make it noticeable!" said Reyna

"Oh shut up! But he's mine so you guys need to back offff!" I said
I saw Kate heading to our table. Can't she mind her own business for once?!

" look Elena, he's not yours , its not going to be easy making him yours. I want him too. The one that needs to back off is you. " said Kate , gladly she left afterwards. what was that for?.

"Well that came out of nowhere I'm done with Kate she changed since last week! He's going to be yours Elena. Kate can wish and dream all she wants." said Kylie

"Thanks Kylie and all of you for being helpful but Kate is right it's not going to be easy especially if she's in the way. " I said

Soon the bell rang and I said goodbye to my friends until 9th hour where ill see them all again. I'm starting to hate Kate more and more. She can't just barge into my life and make it a competition to get the guy I want. Maybe she can be prettier than me maybe that guy will choose her over me but I'm not completely sure about that . Kate needs to stay in her own life and stop getting into mine.
