"Merlin." Gawain greeted as she neared the famous technology expert, his eyes trained to the double sided glass which led into the trainees sleeping quarters. "Coffee?" She asked, extending her arm towards him, the hot liquid shifting dangerously in the cup. Merlin tore his eyes away, glancing at the girl with a grateful smile as he sipped the hot brew.
"You make the best coffee." Merlin awe, placing the the cup upon the work space, his thick accent rumbling in her ears. She smiled, pulling up a spare chair from the far side of the room, wheeling it toward the desk.
"I learnt from the best." She joked, mouth inches from her mug which made her words muffled. Merlin laughed, a hearty genuine laugh which you would never hear from the other Kingsman. "So who's that guy?" She asked, jabbing her thumb in the direction of a curly blonde tall boy.
"Ah," Merlin sat closer in his seat. "that's Charlie, his families been Kingsman since the beginning." He informed, taking his cup from the table.
"That explains the superiority complex." Gawain joked, having observed the boy with a keen eye for the last couple of minutes, obnoxious and stuck radiating off him. Merlin laughed, coughing down some coffee.
"I suppose," He agreed, pointing a finger towards a blonde haired girl who stood beside Eggsy. "that's Roxy, excellent candidate if I do say so myself."
"Is she Degore's daughter?" She inquired, having seen the young woman's face before. Roxy seemed to have a keen eye, especially on Charlie he appeared to enjoy picking on Eggsy.
"Good eye Gawain." Merlin praised. "That," He pointed at another annoying looking boy who stood with Charlie. "is Hugo, another ancient Kingsman family bloodline." Gawain sighed, sitting back in her chair, growing tiresome of the same old people each year. No matter what, most Kingsman only chose ancient family bloodlines that run in their secret service, never anyone else.
"So are they all Kingsman bloodlines except Eggsy?" She asked, earning a suspicious glance from Merlin who, up until now, didn't know that she knew who Eggsy was.
"You know Eggsy?" He asked, ignoring her question entirely. Gawain nodded, not quite understanding why Merlin found this piece of information so surprising, surly he knew that she was with Harry at the pub and had been sent to fetch the boy.
"I met him with Harry." She answered, prying her eyes away from Merlins curious one, watching the candidates slowly migrate into their own groups.
"Right." Merlin drawled out the word, slowly shifting his head back towards the glass pane. They sat in silence, careful eyes watching the young recruits as Merlin recollected himself. In truth, the man had always had a thing for a bit of gossip, and in his job there is always plenty.
"Time for a little fun then?"
