Please remember that Kageyama's nickname in this book is King. That nickname has been given to Kageyama by his grandfather, who treasured and treated him like a king ฅ'ω'ฅ Kageyama's nickname has been stuck with him since he was a baby until now (´ε') So, whenever his parents, grandfather or friends called him by King, that doesn't mean they are insulting him like the canon storyline in the anime or manga. Enjoy reading! ʕ•ε•ʔ
"Are you sure that you can manage to live alone, King?" Kazuyo-san asked for confirmation once again. He was currently sitting inside his car, preparing to leave the Miyagi prefecture.
Kageyama sighed for the hundredth time for today. This was the tenth time his grandfather asked the same question to him again and again. Three months ago, Kageyama has successfully graduated from middle school. He was satisfied with the way he lived all through his middle school years and also decided to study at the high school near his grandfather's house but then suddenly, his parents, who worked overseas, called him and told him that he will move to Miyagi prefecture to attend the high school there.
At first, Kageyama declined the idea of moving as he was too lazy to move all his things into a new place. Other than that, he also didn't want to be separated from his grandfather, who basically took care of him for years. But his parents keep begging him to move to Miyagi, saying that his chances to become an amazing volleyball player will be doubled since there were many powerhouses around that he can go.
After nearly a month of persuading, finally Kageyama agreed to move but under one condition. His parents have to provide him a small apartment and not a huge house. Kageyama hated to live inside a huge house alone. Being alone was awful, y'know.
Kageyama would like to bring his grandfather together with him but if his grandfather followed him, his freedom will be stricted. Kageyama's grandfather, Kazuyo-san was a free spirited man who loved to enjoy his freedom and nature. That's why he moved from the big city to settle down at a countryside. Kageyama know that his grandfather will not be free as he was now if he followed him so Kageyama decided to not allow his grandfather to move with him to Miyagi.
Kazuyo-san, being a thick head, opposed the idea as he wanted to keep taking care of his precious grandson at first but later, he was forced to agree. It was all because Kageyama told him that if he was still stubborn to follow him, Kageyama will hate him for the rest of his life. Kazuyo-san don't want to be hated by his own grandson.
Today was the day Kageyama moved to Miyagi. Kazuyo-san followed Kageyama to help him to move his things into his new apartment. The apartment that Kageyama's parents provided suited Kageyama's preferences. The apartment was not too small but also not too big. It has two bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, living room, laundry room and balcony. Perfect for Kageyama.
Kageyama doesn't have to bring many things as his parents has already provided the furnitures inside the apartment so he just need to bring his clothes along with school supplies. Kageyama also noticed that his new apartment has been decorated beautifully as soon as he stepped inside. Mom must've hired an interior designer to design the inside of this apartment. Well, that designer did a very good job. I like the way they designed this apartment. The design was so simple yet looked luxurious at the same time.
"Yes grandpa, I will be just fine" Kageyama reassured the elder again. The day nearly approached midday and it was the cue for Kazuyo-san to go back home since the drive to his house would took about three hours to arrive. Kageyama doesn't want his grandfather to arrive at home during night time since it would be dangerous for an old man like him.
Kazuyo-san sighed in defeat. There's no use to keep persuading his grandson anymore. He just need to respect his decision. "Okay then. I will get going first, okay? Don't forget to call me whenever you're free" Kazuyo-san smiled while ruffling Kageyama's hair until it's got messy.
"I will. Be careful on your way back home!" Kageyama waved his grandfather goodbye before he watched Kazuyo-san's car slowly leaved his sight. Kageyama sighed softly. "Well, let's make some lunch" Kageyama spoke to himself while arranging his steps to his apartment to make himself some food to eat.
Today marked the first time for Kageyama to live alone without any family members with him. But Kageyama doesn't feel scared to live alone since he was a big boy now.
