The silence wasn't too bad, or at least that's what Jaehyun kept telling himself. Kun's heart felt like it was about to rip because of how hard it was beating in his chest. The two stood just a foot away from each other, and though it might seem like some distance, the two have never been closer in such a state.

"That was, wow, that was uhm..." Kun nervously laughs rubbing the back of his neck, he mumbled a few words that Jaehyun couldn't make out for two reasons, he mumbled and it was in Mandarin. "Jaehyun, who was that really for? Just asking," Kun spoke again, the uncertainty between both of them was soul crushing.

"Kun! Come help mama with dinner!" The soft voice of his mom rung in both of their heads interrupting the two young boys. Kun snapped out of the gaze shared between him and Jaehyun, Jaehyun's lips slowly turned into a pout. Kun gave him a quick apologetic glance before running into his house leaving Jaehyun in his place.

The young Korean let his head fall, quickly tilting his head back up once he felt his eyes prick with tears and his vision blur. Questions! So many questions were running through his head. He let out a frustrated sigh, his lips were slightly quivering, he quickly scratched the itch on his head with a slight aggression. What was he to do in this moment? He poured his heart out didn't he?

Kun slammed the door behind him sinking quickly to the ground.

"Hey!? Why'd you slam the door Qian Kun? Are you sick of your mom already? Yah! Don't you know I love- what's wrong?" Kun's mom quit her playful rambling once she saw the frown on his face. Kun looked up at his mom before pouting and reaching for a hug. She quickly kneeled in front of him to embrace the young boy in her arms to soothe him.

"I'm really confused mama," Kun's voice broke not so subtly towards the end. His head felt like a dozen red ants were having a feast on his skull. He used to like Jaehyun so much but then everything changed between the two, Kun got tired of liking someone who, on one hand, was straight and on the other hand, purposely irritated him.

It was like a switch in his head. The words...

"When you're irritated with me you talk to me more, just to compete with me. You even sit beside me randomly, just to show off to me."

Jaehyun kicked at the grass beneath his school sneakers. He felt relieved but in an angsty way. Maybe he should've warmed up to Kun first instead of just throwing those words at him? He didn't know. All Jaehyun knew is that he wanted the other boy to like him back, Jaehyun just wants Kun.

The next day at school Jaehyun went through his classes as if everything was normal just to avoid Kun feeling bad about yesterday. Of course the only thing that was out of the odd was that everyone kept asking Jaehyun if he was still dating Yeri, he wasn't but Yeri wasn't ready to come out of the closet and he was the only one protecting her in this moment. Yeri is a lesbian, the only people that know are Jaehyun and Yeri best friends, her parents are really strict on her so Jaehyun is like her guardian angel.

"Hey Kun!" Jaehyun called out as he entered the student council meeting room. Kun looked over his shoulder giving him a short nod before turning back towards his conversation. Jaehyun knew the strange guy Kun was talking to, he was talking to Suho. Suho used to be the student council leader before graduating, him and Kun were close once, Suho helped introduce all of the new information to Kun. Jaehyun couldn't help his mind, he had a terrible habit of overthinking, the thought that Kun and Suho liked one another remained prominent in his head as he finished setting up the room while trying to listen in on their conversation.

Si Cheng did say the Kun liked someone. Was it Suho? Jaehyun frowned while watching the two laugh with each other. Jealousy stirred in his gut, he felt like his hands were getting numb. A heaviness rested on his shoulders, Jaehyun been staring at them for so long, Suho was the first to notice.

"Jaehyun, it's good to see you again. I heard that you won the student council election! I'm proud of you, plus I heard that we really good at it so I can be relieved this school is in good hands. I was just visiting Kun," Suho stepped from Kun to speak to Jaehyun, the two bowed respectively towards one another. Kun rocked on his heels while the two greeted each other.

"Ah, thank you sunbae. H-Have you and Kun been talking long? Like, uhm, I don't know if any other members of the council have been in here or anything," Jaehyun stumbled along his words.

"Don't worry hoobae, I wasn't being disruptive," Suho laughed lightly, "Kun, darling I'll see you after school. It was good seeing you both again, it's been so long, call your sunbae sometimes."

With that Suho left the room but no before giving Kun a side hug. Jaehyun  had his eyes trained on Kun, the world darling didn't slip past him. Kun had a light blush that decorated his pale cheeks. Jaehyun clenched his jaw, his teeth grinding. That should be him making Kun blush, it should be him calling his Kun sweet names.

The air remained tense even when Suho left. Jaehyun's eyes didn't part from Kun and though Kun could feel the lasers following him he chose to ignore them. Kun filed some papers in order, finally giving up on ignoring the annoying feeling of Jaehyun's eyes on him.

"Oh my god. Look Jaehyun, look all you want! It's not like it isn't an uncomfortable feeling to have someone staring at you like you're about to steal something," Kun spoke up to call Jaehyun out.

"Are you dating Suho? He already graduated though, you're still in school? Would your parents even be comfortable with that? He's... weird!" Jaehyun quickly replied, getting defensive. Kun turned towards him with wide eyes, he rolled his eyes before walking up to Jaehyun, his face a few inches from the others.

"First off Jaehyun, it isn't any of your business. Second, don't start talking bullshit once your sunbae is out of your face, that's low. Third, even if I was dating Suho it isn't that bad, we're literally only 2 years apart, so chill out. What's your problem?" Kun barked closing in on Jaehyun's tense face. The younger had his eyebrows knitted, his anger rising up his neck as he held his tongue.

Before Jaehyun could snap back the other council members started appearing. The two boys took a step away from each other so others wouldn't take the situation for what it wasn't.

"Now excuse me, I have ideas to think of just for you to take credit of them when you announce it to the council," Kun glared turning to his seat. Jaehyun clenched his fist before his face softened in defeat. Did he really act out of line? Though Kun isn't his boyfriend he couldn't contain himself.
