I sat up in my bed and yawned. Yup. The same dream. It's starting to get annoying now and maybe a little boring. I mean I see the same fight in my dreams every night. I shouldn't be so scarred.
My bedside clock said 9:50, so I decided to get up an eat. As I stand up, I feel somewhat sore in my stomach. Oh yeah. Yesterday. Maybe getting a three day suspension was a good thing, I mean its not like my parents would care considering that I live on my own and I never get visits or calls from them. And I'll actually get a break for once. Its the testing time of the year and everyone is stressed. Maybe Ill actually get more than five hours of sleep this weekend.I shoved a spoon full of "honey bunches of oats" in my mouth while I texted Alex.
Babe, I'm going to the mall. Meet me? He didn't respond so I figured he'll meet me later.
After washing my bowl and showering, I slipped on some blue jean shorts and a simple Tank top with a green flannel. "eh" I said to my self as I walked to my bathroom. I grabbed my brush and tied my hair into a bun. My bathroom was still humid and my hair got frizzy and there was honestly no point in trying, so a bun it was! I quickly grabbed my phone and purse and slipped out my front door, right after putting on my old sperrys."Taxi!" I called. Yup. I needed a taxi, cuz I don't like to use my car. If people see the type of car that I have, I will get used by the "cool" kids and I mostly likely will get robbed. I wouldn't say my car is perfect but it's perfect enough for someone to steal it. Recently, my parents bought me a 2013 camaro. I know it's not 2013 anymore, that's why I said its not perfect but hey! I have an expensive car.
Finally, a taxi, my favorite taxi, pulled up. "Hi, can you take me to the-" "mall? I know." I smiled. Every Saturday, this same taxi and driver, drives by my apartment's plaza and he takes me to the mall every weekend.
"So Jacob, how's work?" I asked breaking the short silence. "Eh, had one chic vomit in the back seat. Right where you are sitting." I shuddered. "Uh! you could have told me!" I whined. I quickly climbed over the seats to the passengers side. Jacob just laughed so I playfully punched his arm. "And how's your lady friend?" I giggled. Jacobs mood drastically changed. "quite lovely." he smiles. "We need to go out more though" he says. "maybe we could go on a double date?" I just nod thinking about my relationship with Alex.We soon pull up to the gigantic and fancy Central Mall. "thanks for the ride, boo!" I say handing Jacob a 50 dollar bill. He deserves the extra money.
I walked around the stores until I got to the store I needed to be at the most. Abercrombie and Fitch. I worked there and modeled for a lot of the stores in the building, but I have the biggest discount here so I always shop here first.
I walked around waving and greeting a couple of my friends that also work here. I get the first weekend of every month off, so that's when I do my big monthly shopping sprees.
"What do I need? what do I need?" I ask myself as I scan the "lingerie" section of the store. I never pick out any thing too sexy because I am way too young, but I just like the cute and simple yet really comfortable items.
I hold up a pair of panties with a matching bra and suddenly hear a voice behind me. "that would look great on you." I know that voice, but its not Alex or any of my coworkers. I set the pair down and turn around. Then I hit me. "MIKEY!" I screamed. I engulfed him in a hug and wrapped my legs around him. Michael was my best friend since pre school. "hey princess, long time no see." he said as he set me down. I nodded smiling widely at him. "I've missed you so much! why are you here!" I whisper yelled. I already caused enough commotion. Michael put his hand over his heart and gasped. "so you don't want me to be here?" he asked. I sighed but remained smiling. "You know what I mean silly." Michael just laughed an pointed behind Him. "that dumbass over there, is waiting for his crush to show him this new bikini she wants and they just so happened to drag me along." I smacked Michael on the arm because he knows I hate cursing. "well I'm glad they did! I wanna meet him." I said.
We walked over to where his friend was standing and I introduced myself."So, Dylan, tell Jess about your crush." Michael said. "Bro, she might hear you!" he said then turned to me. "So her name is Silver. We knew each other since we met when we were kids at a surfing tournament, and since then we've been friends." "She sounds awesome" I said. And soon enough, out walked whom I assume to be Silver. "Dylan I don't like it. The color looks weird- who's this?" she asks pointing at me.
I quickly smile and do a small wave. "I'm Jessica, an old friend of Mikey's." Silver steps foreword and shakes my hand. "Well Jessica, I'm Silver. Nice to meet you." I nod and giggle at my awkward situation. I don't know these people, yet I feel so close to them.
"Well, this is ugly on me so let's just go I guess." Silver says walking back into the dressing room. An idea suddenly pops into my head and I can't help but follow her. "Um Silver?" I ask. Silver turns around holding her shirt up to her body for cover. "Um, I work here so maybe I can help you find something more of your style? I also have discounts on all items." I offer. Silver smiles and nods.
"Wait right here!" I say. I quickly run to the swimwear section o the store and examine the bikinis. I need something to match her sapphire blue eyes, but compliment her tannish white skin color. My eyes quickly darted to the black an midnight blue galaxy bikini. Perfect.---------
"I can't thank you enough for the the bathing suit." Silver tells me as I slurp on my Starbucks frappe. I just smile and wave that "no big deal" kind of wave.
Silver was walking in front of Mikey and I, pushing each other playfully. It's pretty obvious to tell that they both like each other, but it's cute that they are both scared to admit it.
"So what have you been up to?" Michael asks me. I sigh and look up at him as he puts a muscular arm around my shoulder. "Well I'm graduating in a few months, my boyfriend is neglecting me, and I just got suspended for fighting another girl." Michael just laughs. He laughs. "how is that funny? My record is ruined!" I say. Michael finally calms down and stops walking. "Look princess, last time I saw you, you were dancing ballet on a giant stage. Now you are fighting in schools. I'm not laughing because it's funny, I'm laughing because you finally know what it's like to be a regular teen." I couldn't keep staring at his gaze any longer. He was right. As a kid, I had everything. I was spoiled but kind, popular but smart, I was the whole package you could say. Now I'm at the bottom of the food chain.
Michael wiped away a year that I didn't even realize was falling, and pulled me into a hug. A hug that could have lasted for centuries. A hug that I longed for all this time.
"Come on lovebirds!" silver called. I quickly pulled away and pushed my glasses closer to my face.
I glanced back to Michael and blushed. "How about we get out of here?"
