***Ali and I have been messaging way too much about this, sooooooo...yeah! Here's your oneshot, folks 😘
Contains Seabound spoilers!***
Beep clutched the wheel tighter. "I just got off my plane four hours ago, I really need a nap and something more substantial than a scone, and the only German phrase I know is 'Ich habe ein Bier'. Can you all please just shut up?"
Ever since the tragic ending of Ninjago Season 15, Ali and Beep had been joking about storming Lego headquarters together to demand Tommy Andreasen bring Nya back. Well, Beep had thought they were joking. Apparently, Ali had been stalking Tommy for weeks to determine his whereabouts. Once she figured out he would be travelling to Denmark to discuss top-secret Lego info, she knew it was time to enact their plan.
So Ali told Beep to get her passport and fly to Europe before a British Sri-Lankan Keebler Elf showed up at her door with an axe.
When Beep arrived in Germany - Ali suggested they not travel directly to Denmark so as to lessen outside suspicions - she was surprised to find that the entire Simp Squad had also been contacted by Ali. Ali had even kidnapped Lia (because she somehow knew where everyone lived) and forced her to join them on this journey to Lego.
So now, because Beep was the stupid American driver with the most behind-the-wheel experience, she was the one who was carefully driving toward the Germany and Denmark border, hoping and praying she wouldn't be arrested for driving with a Michigan license. (Though Beep didn't actually live in Michigan - she just, for some odd reason, decided to get her driver's license from Detroit.)
Aleena patted Beep's shoulder from the seat beside her. "I'll quiet them down. Don't worry." She proceeded to scrunch up her face into the most furious expression possible and turn toward the back of Ali's rental van. "If you kids don't shut up, I'm going to take all your passports and spend your souvenir money at the nearest pub!" She examined a fingernail. "Not on drinks, just on food. And then we could...give it to the homeless!" She smiled brightly at the others.
Cho held up a finger. "Are any of us legally allowed to drink? What's the legal age of consumption in Germany?"
"Sixteen," Eliza said from the back, not looking up from her Stab Central magazine.
Everyone got really quiet at that.
Eliza looked up and arched a brow. "What? I just thought I'd do a bit of research before we blew our cover or something. I also mastered a German accent for my last part in my school's production of The Sound of Music, so if you all need a hand...you know where to find me." She went back to reading her magazine.
Aleena arched a brow. "So...I can drink, Beep can drink, Markos can drink, Ali can pretend she can..."
Beep raised a hand in the air. "Driving in Germany is already hard enough! Do you really think I want to be under the influence at a time like this?"
"You're also allowed to have a 0.5 blood-alcohol content level while driving," Eliza informed everyone.
Beep's eye twitched. "It's less than 0.1 in the U.S.."
"There are other countries than the U.S., you know," Cho piped up.
"I know!" Beep exclaimed. "Believe me, I know. If there was ever a doubt, Ali coerced me into traveling overseas to storm Lego headquarters with you all."
"Just broadening your cross-cultural experience," the tiny elf smiled from the back.
"Speaking of cross-cultural experience..." Beep flipped on her turn signal. "Look! A McDonald's!"
"They're actually very popular in Germany," Eliza mused. "And a number of them serve beer."
Beep's eyebrows furrowed. "In the drive-thru? Back when my parents lived in Germany, I don't think beer in a drive-thru was a thing."
"Your parents lived in Germany?" JimBob frowned from the back.
JimBob had tried to get out of Ali's scheme to threaten Tommy, but like Lia, she'd kidnapped him using her elflike abilities.
Beep nodded. "They were both stationed here in the U.S. military."
"That still means you could use a cross-cultural experience," Ali said innocently. "Did you ever live in Germany?"
"No," Beep sighed. "I was supposed to go to South America this summer, then I was supposed to go to Bulgaria, and then my trip was canceled. So now I'm staying at a summer camp a state over. If I ever get back from this mess."
Beep pulled up to the speaker box. "Guten tag!" she called into the speaker.
"You realize we have English-speaking order takers, right?" asked a bored voice thickly laced with a German accent.
"How did you know I was -,"
"We use cameras in our drive-thru. Let me hand you over to Lloyd, okay?"
Aleena chuckled. "That's funny. They have an employee named Lloyd when we're here to -,"
"Hi, welcome to McDonald's. How may I serve you today?" someone asked over the speaker.
Everyone collectively blinked.
That sounded exactly like Lloyd from Ninjago!
Beep shook off her shock and scanned the menu. "All right. I'd like five cheeseburgers, five large fries, and one Happy Meal. Ali, what toy do you want?"
"An axe!" she giggled gleefully from her car seat.
Beep slowly turned back to the speaker box. "Um, do you have Barbies?"
Cho gasped from the backseat. "Guys...look!"
Aleena glanced out the windshield and gaped.
A guy who looked exactly like Jay Walker passed in front of the car. He was even wearing all blue!
JimBob turned to Markos. "Do you have a twin who lives in Germany?"
Markos shook his head slowly, handing up his credit card to Beep. "Um...no."
"Guys," Cho said excitedly, "I think these are the actual characters from Ninjago!"
