THE BEGINNING
Well where should I start. This is a very complicated story so try to keep up. I will start simple. I was born and raised in New York City by my father. My mother had been murdered years before on her way into town. She was coming to collect me from ballet and well, she never arrived. I waited hours until finally they had to call my father. He arrived shortly after confused why his wife had not picked me up until we found her body sat inside of her car cold as ice and most definitely dead.....INTERESTING TURN
Let's take a step back, I was waiting at my ballet class for exactly 2 hours and 35 minutes. At first my best friend (Lucy) waited with me but in the end she had to leave to go to the orthodontist and get her braces tightened. So I waited and waited on that cold hard step outside of the ballet hall ,as you couldn't wait for your parents in there, I can still feel how the cold hard rain pounded on my shoulders as if it was matching my mood. After my father arrived a search party was set for my mother as she never returned home that night. It took 3 days to find her body rotting in a car on the side of the road, as if she had known what was about to happen to her but that wasn't the most shocking part.....PLANNING AN INVESTIGATION
Once the autopsy came back we discovered just how she died. She was poisoned. The case was left cold after the FBI agents tried there best to find the killer but it was never at peace in my heart. I always knew I would have to be the one to figure out her death and that is what I did. A month after the death I decided it was my duty to find the killer and put justice in place. But turns out it already was in place. Anyway back on topic I decided to take justice into my own hands. So I asked the officers for all the case information and of course they wouldn't let me as I am only 17 and it is a lot of important information to give out but I made it work. I arranged for me and Lucy to sneak in at midnight to go and get the files on my mothers case.FATHER GOES CRAZY
So the day came. It was 10pm and Lucy and I were getting ready to go out of my window when my dad walked in he was usually pretty chill with everything so when he asked what we were doing I told him. Suddenly out of the blue he began to freak out, he started to throw things across the room and burst into tears. It was odd because I hadn't seen him cry once even after mother passed(which now I think of it was a major red flag). He went so crazy he put a lock on my window and my door and told us that we could come out when he chose that we were ready. So we were stuck....THE POLICE VISIT
After a few hours we managed to get a hold of Lucy's mother who came to try and save us but my father would not let her in. So she ended up having to call the police to come and break threw the window. When they found my father he was histerically crying in the next room. They ended up having to take him into the station for the night until they could get answers from him. So Lucy and I would have had the perfect time to steel the papers from the lockbox at the station but Lucy had to go home with her mother after she found out what we were doing that night. So I was on my own....THE SECRET LETTER
I got up all of the things me and Lucy had prepared (torches and distractions). I began to leave threw my window when I found a note attached to the side of it. The note said " Don't try and research my death it will not end well my sweetheart from E" my mothers name was Elena it had to be her. But why...IT WASN'T HER RIGHT?
I decided to keep continuing with my investigation after 2 weeks of pondering over that one message. It replayed over and over again in my head. I concluded to the fact that anyone could have wrote that letter right? It wasn't there before right? The police would have found it right?CARRYING ON WITH THE PLAN
So I carried on with my plan. The following Saturday I hopped out my window just like my mother tought me to if father got too drunk. So I began to walk down the street. Luckily the police station was only 2 blocks away so I would only take 10 minutes or less to get there. Lucy had agreed to wait at the station for me to keep a lookout while I went inside to unlock the box with my Bobby pin. Lucy was standing right outside when I got there and agreed to stay outside and text me if she saw anything. So in I went....IN TROUBLE
It was cold and the air was dense inside. I forgot how creepy it was in an empty dark building at night so I had to hurry before my legs gave way from fear. After about 5 minutes of searching I had managed to find the box inside of the files room. The Bobby pin worked perfectly and I made sure to get out of there as quickly as I could. But as I walked threw the doors to leave I saw a text from Lucy and it said " Quickly get out of there now they are coming now!!" Delivered 5 minutes ago! An alarm started to go off as I ran threw the doors as Lucy joined me. We ran down the street as police men followed us. They were catching up rapidly and we were running out of options apart from to surrender. I was about to stop when I saw a caffe door open hidden within the woods. I signalled to Lucy and we ran threw the doors after ducking threw a bush. We lost the policemen and I realised when we were. We were In the coffee shop that my mother used to go to everyday before picking me up from ballet...THE LITTLE LETTER
I immediately went up to the lady at the counter (who was usually there According to mother) her name was Linda. She kindly said hello while shaking I asked her if she knew anything about what happened to my mother as she had stopped here to get some tea before picking me up. I expected no answer as the police had already visited her to ask her about mother yet I got more of an answer then I expected. She tilted her head towards my mothers usual chair. As she gestured I walked towards it, leaving Lucy stood confused by the door. The chair looked normal from afar but as I got closer I noticed a massive rip on the side of the chair that was cut open after someone attempting to stick it back together. I could see nothing apart from a yellow bottle sticking slightly out threw the cracks of the cut accompanied by a little letter....IT ALL MADE SENCE
I opened the slit and pulled out a small yellow tube of half empty liquid. The bottle read " Cyanide poison" then I pulled out the note horrified it said "If you are reading this you have found my suicide note. I am sorry I couldn't take the guilt of my past. If you are wondering what I did I am ready to admit it. I was on my way home from work one day when a young girl stepped In front of my car and I couldn't stop in time. The girl died but I could bring myself to tell anyone. So I didn't. If you are reading this Natalie I am so sorry I asked your father to hide the truth from you and to do whatever it takes to stop you from finding out the truth. Just know I love you...."
And then to Natalie it all made sense.
