Kei happily skips out of the school building that is known as ANHS. Her bag in one hand, and her graduation certificate in another. She takes a deep breath, taking in the scenery.

"I'm finally out of that school, and ready to go to college!" Kei said, stretching her arms out. A rough hand grabs hers, and she knows exactly who it is.

"Are you excited to be going to college Kiyotaka? Especially with your girlfriend~" Kei asked.

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to it." Kiyotaka said, gripping Kei's hand a bit harder. The two had decided to go to college together, and continue their relationship, unlike most high school couples. Kiyotaka had no problem getting a scholarship, however he had to tutor Kei a lot in order for her to get one. Luckily, that hard work paid off, and they both were admitted to Kyoto University.

The young couple walked down the sidewalk, the future looking bright. There was nothing that was stopping them now, not a single thing.

They walked to the crosswalk in front of the bus stop, and waited patiently for the street light to turn. As soon as it did, Kei sprinted across the crosswalk, while Kiyotaka just walked.

"Come on, slowpoke!" Kei exclaimed, poking fun at Kiyotaka.

Kiyotaka let out an exasperated sigh. "I'm coming."

Oh, how wrong he was. He wasn't coming to Kei, in fact, he wouldn't be able to.

A loud siren rung in Kei's ears, making her cover them with her hands. Her eyes darted up, and saw the horrific scene in front of her.

"Kiyotaka, watch out!" Kei exclaimed. However, it was too late.

Kiyotaka had been hit by a bus.

Timeskip

Kei cried over Kiyotaka's hospital bed for the 4th time today. She blamed herself over and over again, unable to think otherwise.

In the middle of her sobbing, a click of a doorknob was heard.

A man in a lab coat walked in with a clipboard, and sat on a wooden stool at the other side of Kiyotaka's hospital bed. "Hello, Karuizawa. I've come here with the results." The man said, tapping his clipboard.

"Well? Will he be alright?" Kei asked hysterically. Her emotions were all over the place at the moment.

"Yes, he will be fine." Kei's face lit up in excitement.

"That's great-"

"But he's in a coma." Kei's face no longer had that bright and excited look we saw earlier. Instead it was one of shock, despair, and sadness. Tears flowed out of her eyes, as she rested her head on Kiyotaka's chest again.

"H-How long?" Kei asked, sniffling from her tears. Her heartrate skyrocketed in anticipation, but she waited patiently for the doctor's answer.

"Luckily, the impact wasn't bad enough to put him in a long term coma, so he'll be in this state for about one week." The doctor said, tapping his clipboard again. Kei's heartrate went down as he said that. One week couldn't be too bad, right?

The doctor continued. "Would you like to stay here with your boyfriend? This hospital offers a free place to stay if any family members would like to stay with their loved ones." He asked. Kei nodded her head, and he handed her the clipboard along with a pen. "Just sign right here so we can confirm your attendance, and that will be all." Kei wrote her name down quickly, and handed the stuff back to the doctor.

"Thank you, and I wish you two the best of luck." The doctor said, leaving the room. Kei looked around the room at all of the equipment, and back to Kiyotaka.
