It was an average day like any other, a hot July afternoon, common for your area. But see the catch with this afternoon? You've just woken up, can't find your phone, and remember you had plans, but you just don't remember what they were.

Good thing they're written down in the schedule on the now missing cell phone. Ugh. Isn't life a peach? Lucky for you the phone starts ringing incessantly.

Good, now at least you'll be able to find it. You pick it up. It was under the pillow the whole time!? Damn, can you be stupider? You check to see who was calling.

Flame Meister. Oh no. That's Grillby's contact. You click the green ringer. His voice is slow and calm. A sort of warm intimacy coating his every word. You barely hear what he says, more focused on his alluring voice.

"So I'll be over in about an hour for drinks and lunch? Sounds good?" His voice stops suddenly breaking your trance. Damn it Y/N. Why'd you had to have plans with him, TODAY? Ok, well whatever, this is what you're doing today.

"Yeah sounds good." You nearly squeak. He chuckles on the other end of the line and hangs up. You can hear the smile on his warm face as he ends the call.

As soon as that's over you sort through your clothes. Nothing good to wear and the literal hottest guy you know is coming over in an hour. Better improvise.

Anxiety and heart-pounding the whole time, you select a sundress and a cute little floppy hat to match. You've made a pick-nick for the backyard thinking he'd appreciate the open air.

Grillby inside of houses was something that could happen but if his emotions ever got too much he'd flame up. That was mostly an angry thing, but sometimes when he was really flustered it happened too. Hehe, cute flame prince.

You had called him your flame prince once and his flames got instantly brighter and hotter than usual catching a nearby girl's wig on fire. That was a rough day. Good times.

You were in your backyard setting up the picnic when Grillby arrived. He knocked patiently on the front door and waited for about 5 minutes before catching a sweet-sounding humming. Ah, so there you were. In the back.

He paused at the gate for a moment just watching you move about the yard fixing up anything that might be a potential danger or look unsightly. Eventually, you turned to address him, face flush with embarrassment.

"Oh, hey there Grillbs." You call him. Grillby waves politely. He's not much of a speaker, preferring to sit and listen to your ramblings. This little picnic deal was to make up for your awful tab. Somehow he never seemed to mind though.

He takes a seat on the blanket you've set out and begins looking through the basket of food. He knows you've just done this to appease him, but the fact that you did makes him very happy inside.

"So, how's it going with those damn skeletons I always see you with?" You inquire. See timelines were a tricky thing with monsters so you've learned. Grillby has many cousins but they're easy to tell apart. This was what the skeletons referred to as "classic" Grillby. Apt for his suit and classical bartender get up.

Grillby waves you off and makes intense eye contact. He looks like he has something to say. Is it too soon? I mean, you had known each other since you wandered into his bar all those years ago.

"Is there something wrong with my outfit?" You took note of his staring and had begun to mentally panic. Oh no, he thinks you're weird. He probably wants to leave, show him out. Something...something...

Grillby suddenly takes a bite of a sandwich and you do the same, awkwardly sitting there on the blanket. You decide to test something, scooting closer to Grillby. The heat coming off of him is enough to melt your calm cool act. You know that means he's flustered.
