To be with you - A Yuzu Koyama x Reader Story

Chapter II - Preparation

After their first meeting, they grew closer and fond of each other's company. As they grew more closer, Yuzu felt her feelings for James grow deeper and stronger. She couldn't hold her feelings back and wanted to confess her feelings for him. She finally mustered enough courage to speak it out. 

--- Student Council Room, 10AM---

"I hope he would say yes...", Yuzu quietly but nervously muttered to herself. 

"Says yes to what?", Anzu appears as she starts walking to Yuzu, bringing her usual dried sweet potatoes. 

Yuzu gets startled seeing Anzu and nervously responds, "A-Ah, n-nothing President!", hiding her glowing red face.

Knowing Yuzu, she answered teasingly with a slight smirk, "Ah... so it's about him, isn't it?"

"A-Ah... Y-Yes...", Yuzu nervously responded as she looked away with a bright red blush. 

"Oh, were you planning to ask him out on a date or something?", Anzu asked her, full of curiosity. 

"W-Well, I-I...", Yuzu tries to explain but nervously falls silent. 

Anzu pats her back gently to comfort her and gives her an encouraging smile. For a while now, both Anzu and Momo knew of the strong feelings Yuzu had for James and both of them were supportive to Yuzu on this. 

"You know, why don't you and James just hangout like normal? Like you two always do.", Anzu calmly advised her. 

"W-Well, I guess I could.", Yuzu calmly considered the suggestion Anzu gave. 

Anzu pats her back gently and smiles at her. 

"You'll be fine. Its how you cherish and honor the memory that matters more!", Anzu said with a playful wink and thumbs up cheerfully. 

Yuzu, now encouraged by Anzu, now has a way of confessing her feelings to James.

---Cafeteria, 12:00PM---

Its lunchtime, and James is just reading a book while eating a sandwich for lunch. Yuzu musters up her courage one last time and walks up to him shyly.  

James stops eating and sees Yuzu, with a light blush on her face and in a shy look. 

"Oh, hey Yuzu. What's up?", James greeted with a warm smile. 

"Hey James, m-mind if I sit with you for lunch?", Yuzu asked in a cutely shy way. 

"Of course you may sit, Yuzu!", James warmly replied, always happy to see her. 

Yuzu smiles warmly and sits at a chair facing him. 

They start eating their lunch together with their usual chats. 

Suddenly, in a blink of an eye, her thoughts ran to the thought of asking him to the hangout and she felt nervous. James even noticed her nervous expression. 

"Hey, what's wrong?", James asked with concern and smiles lightly.

"A-Ah, n-nothing...", Yuzu shyly replies, while looking away with a heavy blush. 

Knowing Yuzu, he asked again but with a determined and serious look, "Yuzu, what's wrong?"

Yuzu blushed heavily and looked away.

"W-Why does his look always get me?!", Yuzu mentally screaming at herself

"I-I wanted to ask i-if y-you want to hangout t-this Saturday...", Yuzu replied nervously and looked away with a glowing red face. 

"Yuzu... that's a good idea!", James happily responded. 

Yuzu was brightened up by his very positive response and happily replied, "Really? Alright!". 

What Yuzu didn't know is that James found her reaction to be very cute. 

(James in his head) "Man... how cute can my friend be? Could she be more cuter than this?"

Then, Yuzu asked calmly, "Well... I will see you around at that time?"

James replied, "Of course, I look forward to hang out with you like always."

When class started to return after lunch, they happily said goodbye to one another as they separated to different classes for the time being. 

As classes came to an end for the day, they started to walk home together as it was what they always did ever since. Both of them are excited for the hangout they will have on the weekend. For James, this was a hangout like any other that they have been in before. But for Yuzu, it will be one where she will face her fear and to be courageous in what she is about to say.
