Winter x Sunny One-shot

It was dawn at Jade mountain academy, the birds were singing, the crackers were chirping, the dragons were screaming... Wait, the dragons were screaming ? The ice-blue prince woke up and walked out of his dorm. He was approaching a group of dragons that was screaming out loud. Before he could make out a distinct image of what was happening : all he could see was Peril, Turtle and a few other screaming dragons.

That's when he realised what was happening : he saw burning scrolls on the floor, little patches of fire all around and a Mudwing that got burnt and then he saw Sunny trying to get some order in.

Only the thought of the Golden Sandwing made him feel funny.
He had butterflies in his stomach. The Sandwing looked at him and slid in a quick "Hi !" before quickly getting back to screaming at the pupils. Winter just sat there and looked at the weird scene : Peril was soon sent into a short hour of ... detention ...?

Detention was this new thing that the dragons had introduced in Jade mountain academy for the pupils that did not listen. It was just a hour of doing nothing or exercises depending on what you did. And even though it was just a hour it is still felt like an eternity because of the constant boredom kicking in every now and then.

But the only time Winter had gotten detention was with Sunny keeping an eye on him, so he found it fine anyway. He always thought of Sunny as the weak part of the Dragonets of Destiny, the one that didn't fit in well, the one that was a bit weird. At least that was the case until he found out how nice she was and who her true parents were. Oh, and until he finally found out what she looked like.

Oh yes, the looks, the only thing that captivated him about her.
Ugh, he really should stop lying to himself like that. She was beautiful, cute, smart and his one and only in his eyes.

He cut to the chase:

- "Hey, Sunny ?"
- "Yes Winter"
- "I was just wondering, could you leave those dragonets"
- "Hmmm, ok, just a sec - Hey Peril make some order, I need to talk to someone !"
- "Ugh, ok, Hey ! You little dragonets stop bitchin' about some stupid scrolls !"
- "Not what I had in mind..." - Sunny said. "Anyway, you were saying Winter ?"
Winter sighed after finally getting some attention :
- "Go to your office, it will be easier to talk in there."
- "Ok"

As they walked through the halls Winter was getting closer and closer to running off, yet he knew if he did, she would think he was a weirdo and most likely avoid him. Not that she doesn't already think that because he did kind of change his attitude in the space of a week so... (You get the idea - now shush and read!)

They arrived at Sunny's office to find Clay rummaging through the pile of not-so-neatly arranged scrolls.

- "Hi Clay, whatcha' looking for ? I can help you find it !"
Winter internally sighed because he knew that he would have to wait again.
- "I'm looking for that one scrolls, you know, the one on those little spinny things that all the little dragonets have. A student wanted to know how they work. "
It's true Winter saw some of the smaller dragonets playing with those things.
- "Oh, you mean fidget spinners ! Sure here it is !"
She leaned over and picked one of the lower scrolls on the shelf :
there ! That should do, bare in mind this is my collection of scrolls, so go see Starflight if you need more. Ok ? "
- "Sure Sunny, see you later!"
