I check my bedside clock it read 10:25pm, I should be in wonderland already but sleep isn't doing it's job. I stand up from my bed and grab a copy of "how to be successful in your career " written by Tessa Salvatore. I had bought a copy from the company's bookshop earlier today. I'm a big fan of Tessa Salvatore and I feel privileged to work under her as her personal secretary after 7years. It wasn't easy getting to the position of being her secretary but I'd work really hard overnight even though it was difficult I scaled through.

"are you asleep already?" my mom knocked.

I'm too tired to reply and not even in the mood for a conversation, so I stay silent for a minute or two before carefully hopping into my bed and throwing the duvet cover over my head, careful enough to make no sound.

And I fell asleep...

"it's morning already" I groan putting off my alarm it's just 4am but I need to get to the office in time because the company is getting ready for a big occasion taking place the day after tomorrow, it's actually the company 12 years anniversary.

I do my morning routine and throw on a black knee-length skirt that has a little slit at the front, a tucked in white long sleeve top and nude color pump.

I pack my hair in a low pony tail and roll it in a dun after a mild makeup of just concealer, mascara, and a red lipstick, I was good to go.

Thereafter I grab my mom's car key from my study table, I would need it since I'm the one picking up my Natalie after school and I tiptoe down the stairs in other not to wake anyone up as I leave for work.

parking the car in the parking lot at the company "House of Tessa " , I got down from the car and I use my ID card to enter the building and then start my work for the day by sorting out some files. yap I work at "House of Tessa".

"Aurora Giovanni! " my bestfriend called out, I guess she just came in.

"Luna you're late for work " I teased her like I was her boss whilst smiling back at her

"oh Ms Giovanni spare me for the last time" she laughed making me shake my head and laugh too

I met her when I first walked into the company 7yrs ago in search for a job and ever since we have been bestfriends

"Ms Giovanni, we need a photographer, for the event" said one of the ladies working with me.

"it's really hard finding one these days" I said in reply at I hang up the banner

"I think Mrs Salvatore has a file where she wrote down list of some photography agencies " Luna said, helping me with the banner

"alright then, why don't you check it later on and write down about two or write agencies I should meet up with tomorrow ?, I doubt I would have the time to go through the file, can you?" I asked Luna

"yes ma'am " Luna teased and we'll laughed

I checked the time and it was 2pm already and I still haven't finished printing the invitation. I came up with a plan, first pick Naty from school, go home and after I have had my dinner, I would come back to work overnight .

I checked my messages and I had 3 unread messages, there are probably from my mum or step dad, I ignore it and prepare to leave . Shutting down the laptop, I dropped a note in Mrs Salvatore office just in case she come around and she finds out I'm not in seat.

"Aura "Naty mumbled

"yes" I answered, she usually calls me Aura just like my mum and Luna does

"can we get ice-cream? " she said

"not today please, I have to get back to work "

"pleaseeeeeeee" she plead

"we won't stay long " I gave in

I pulled the car in front of an ice cream parlor and Naty jumps down from the car in excitement I can't help but smile. Atimes I did wish I was 8years old like her and all I got to think of is ice creams and what cookies I should eat.

"What flavor would you like? " I asked Naty as I sat on a stool beside her

"Raspberry rose Sundae" she giggled

"one Raspberry rose Sundae and one chocolate stout waffle sundae " I told the confectioner who had been waiting for our orders

He turned around and I noticed he was actually handsome even from behind. He was putting on sky blue button up rolled up to his elbow revealing his veiny forearm. He had dark hair which was a little bit curly. I studied his face when he turned around to face me, he had a pair of green eyes.

"excuse me Miss" he said hitting his palm on the table not to loud but loud enough to wake me up from my day dream.

"em.. em" I stammered, red in embarrassment "how much is my bill? " I asked him fetching my purse from my bag

"$2.58 " he answered, his green eyes focused on me

"okayyy" I paid him off and walked out with Naty tagging along

I silently hoped I would see him around, if I should bring Naty to the Ice cream parlor any time from now. He is probably a new worker cause I never met him before.

"mum we had ice cream " I heard Naty giving mum today's deets and I again thought of the green eyed confectioner

"hey mum " I said as I asked into the sitting room exhausted. I drop the car key in the kitchen cabinet and grab a bottle of water from the fridge

"lunch is ready" my mom said

"it's okay, I already ordered lunch " I said climbing up the stairs to my room. My mum and I don't really have a good daughter and mother relationship and I care less

I entered my room and immediately lock the door behind me. I check the time I have two hours to rest before going back to work.

I take off my pump and massage my feet till I'm satisfied then lie down on my bed. If I should work over night I should sleep at noon. I thought of him but I quickly brush it off.

The ringing tone of my phone awoke me
"Hello " I replied without checking the ID caller

"bitch" I recognize the voice it's Luna "why didn't you finish the invitations before leaving? We have to hand them out tomorrow "

"I will be there in 10mins" I said rubbing my sleepy eyes

"that's means I can leave? " she asked

"yes" I answered

"thanks, I actually have dinner with my parents, see you tomorrow, love ya" she hung up

Despite the fact that Luna isn't living with her parents anymore she still has a good relationship with them. Well lucky her, her parents didn't get divorced and start a new family, atimes I feel I belong no where.

I'm behind time so I hurry up and get dressed, I'd just have dinner at MacDonald.
