the air seemed to stop. the tension was unbearably thick; and your heart felt shattered. you really thought you knew her better than anyone, even her companions. but in the end.. you guess you were wrong.
annie made a slow turn to see your familiar frame at the door. she had prayed so hard that no matter who found out her real identity, that it would never reach the one she loved the most. but fate had other plans.
"hey.. annie. when did this.. all start?" you asked. your appearance seemed oddly unfazed, and calm in a deadly, "i'm going to kill you" way.
her eyes widened as she opened her mouth, but closed it, knowing nothing could ever fix this. this might be the end for her loved one..
reiner lunged towards you, but annie pulled him back by instinct. he widens his eyes before asking,
"are you no longer a warrior.. annie?"
she had a frightened look, glancing at bertholdt, to reiner, and then to you.
"i— no, i.. we can't.." she whispered.
bertholdt charged to grab y/n, but annie grabbed her first.
deciding to do something quickly, y/n put annie in her arms and launched herself away with odm.
annie was too fazed and confused to think.. was staying in this hell.. really worth being by her loved one? her father.. her fellow warriors?
reiner and bertholdt chased after y/n with speed and agility, but y/n was talented. her skills matched the ones of mikasa ackerman.
"goddamnit! annie, grab her already!" reiner shouted.
annie was frozen. she had never felt happier when she was around y/n, and it was the first time she had ever blushed, when y/n had told her, what she called, "a perv's favorite joke."
she couldn't help it; she loved her. too much, for her own good.
reiner and bertholdt eventually passed the two. annie looked into y/n's eyes.
time seemed to freeze, for just a moment.
two months later.
she smirked at annie's awkward red face. annie had never been kissed before, not by anyone.
reiner and bertholdt had fled after their cover was blown. it was so peaceful, and annie could finally have quality time with y/n.
it was a perfect life.
