Toji sits by his wife's bedside; holding her frail arm and touching her forehead. How could he lose her again? Was it his fault that she had to suffer? She didn't deserve this at all...Toji just wanted to give his wife the love he never was able to give her in his past life...how will Megumi feel? To lose a mom at such a young age. Suddenly her soft hands graze his cheek wiping the tears away.
"Toji please don't cry...I'm still here..."
"I don't want you to go..."
"I'll always be with you Toji...we'll all be together forever someday, as a family."
Her weak smile was genuine and although it came with more blank eyes it still gave Toji the light in his life.
"I love you."
Slowly her arms fell off of his face, and he caught them as quickly just to cry out in pain. The heart rate monitor suddenly flat lined and all Toji could do was look at his deceased love. The white blankets on the hospital bed became wet with teardrops as Toji wepted. He was filled with so much shock and grief that he couldn't stand and had fallen onto his knees still shedding tears. Throughout the whole ordeal, he was silent; only making soft sniffle noises. The team of doctors and nurses stood silently in respect outside the room; and after a couple of minutes Toji exited the room.
"We are sorry for you loss Mr.Fushiguro; if there is anything we can do please don't hesitate to ask."
Toji couldn't make eye contact and only stared at his wife.
"If you could just monitor her in this room for a little more time...Our son hasn't said goodbye."
"We'll gladly help. What time will you be coming again?"
"It'll be quick... like 20 minutes."

The sky was clear and there was a rainbow in Toji's peripheral vision. The whole atmosphere was too happy...almost like the love of his live was still here. A couple of tears ran through his cheek as he wiped them and continued to observe the sky. The sound of running children and parents made him turn around and look for his son Megumi.
He could see the small boy smile as they ran up to him holding a paper flower. Toji noticed his little Megumi had grown since he was an infant.
"Papa look! I made a flower for mommy since we are gonna visit her again! Do you think she'll like it?"
Toji's eyes widened in shock and his eyes crinkled slightly as he tried to hold his tears in.
"I'm sure mommy will like it...I have something important to tell you when we get there okay?"
The father smiled with his tired eyes and softly grabbed Megumi hand and lead him to the car. The car ride to the hospital was peaceful as Megumi was softly humming and giggling to himself; Toji couldn't help but smile and ruffle his sons head.
"Ah! Papa that tickles hehe!"
Toji chuckles and rolled down the window leaving his left hand to rest on the door. The breeze was comforting and the road was empty. Almost like someone was purposefully trying to comfort the grieving man.
