The Boss

Chapter 3

Maaga ako ngayon sa trabaho to prepare the conference room, may board meeting kasi ngayong alas otso si boss. Hinanda ko na rin ang mga papeles na kakailanganin rin mamaya.

7:50 palang nagsidatingan na ang ang board members, kasama narin ang different VP ng kompanya. Pumasok na sila sa conference room and readied themselves.

7:58 ng dumating si Nathan, sinalubong ko siya and told him about the meaning and schedule for the day. We proceed to the conference room. Nathan sat directly to his designated chair while I made my way to the side table to make his coffee. I give him his coffee, yung timpla ko na ibinilin niyang yun na ang klaseng kape na ititimpla ko. The meeting started and I jot down notes para sa minutes ng meeting. 

10:30 na ng umaga natapos ang meeting. Nathan called me and asked his next schedule.

"Sir, at 12 noon you have a meeting with Mr. Fernandez at the Italian Restaurant nearby." Sagot ko naman sa kaniya.

"Okay. Bring me the documents that I need to sign in the office." sabi niya pa before entering his office.

Kinuha ko naman agad yung papeles na inihanda ko kanina kasali na rin yung dokumento na ginamit kanina sa meeting, kailangan niya rin kasing e review iyon. Hinatid ko lang iyon sa loob at bumalik na ako sa pwesto ko.

By 11:45 lumabas na si Nathan sa office niya. Siguro ay pupunta na siya sa meeting place.

"Let's go." sabi niya.

"Sasama po ako sir?" napatanong ako na hindi naman dapat.

"Well yeah. You're my secretary and you're supposed to be with me wherever I go" sabi niya pa. Hindi na ako kumibo at sumunod nalang sa kaniya.

Nakarating kami sa meeting place in time. Pumunta kami sa naka reserve na closed room sa restaurant and waiting for Mr. Fernandez. It's alread 12:20 at wala pa rin sila. Asan na ba sila? Alam kong maiinip nito si Boss eh.  My work phone suddenly rang and I answered it quickly when I saw it was Mr. Fernandez's personal assistant.

"Hello Francine Lacsamana speaking"

"Miss Lacsamana, I called to inform you to cancel the meeting and reschedule it next week. Something emergency happen, and Mr. Fernandez's attention is urgently needed." sabi pa sa kabilang linya.

"Okay sir. I'll try to reschedule the meeting" sagot ko at pinatay naman na sa kabilang linya ang tawag.

"The meeting was cancelled?" agad na tanong ng Boss ko after the call na animoy nakikinig talaga siya sa usapan.

"Yes sir. I'm sorry to inform you but Mr. Fernandez cancelled the meeting, may emergency daw po kasi." sagot ko.

"What a waste of time. Tsk." sabi niya. "Why don't we just take our lunch here since nandito narin naman tayo" dagdag niya pa. Gustuhin ko mang humindi pero wala akong magawa kasi amo ko siya.

The waiter came and toon our orders. Umalis rin naman siya pagkatapos. Akala ko tatahimik lang kami at maghihintay sa inoreder namin dito, hindi pala.

"You seem tense. Did I make you uncomfortable?" biglang tanong sa akin ni Nathan na may nakakalokong tingin.

"No sir. I'm sorry." Sagot ko.

"Common you can just call me Nathan, wala narin naman tayo sa office." - Nathan.

"I think it's not right and very inappropriate" sabi ko naman.

"Are you feeling awkward?" Tanong niya na naman. "Psh. As if hindi ka pa sanay. It's your nature diba? To date another man while you're in a relationship? What a slut. Isa pa just call me Nathan or Hon like you used to call me. Diyan ka naman magaling diba? Ang manlandi?" Dagdag niya pa.
